Is upgrading to a Flex worth it?

Hi guys,

I've been using my PC for about two years, and I must say - I hate the amount of time required to properly correct an Audi or BMW. The clear is just too hard, and the PC seems so underpowered.



In your opinion, is upgrading to the Flex worth it? Will I spend significantly less time correcting the paint? What about the UDM?

My opinion is to try and learn to use a rotory, and follow up with a PC.



After you get the general rules down; Faster is not better, keep it moving, keep it flat, ect, the only issue people seem to have with rotories is finishing without holograms.



The light holograms left behind by a polishing pad and a rotory, if any, are easily removed by a pc on speed 6, without even needing to move the PC super slow either.



A rotory is cheaper and leaves a better finish. I bought a Flex even though I already ahve two rotories and one PC and ended up selling it a week later. If you didn't already have a PC, I'd advise to get it.
 
I agree. Go rotary and finish with the PC as needed.



If you were a first time buyer, I'd suggest the UDM for a lower budget and Flex for a higher budget.
 
I usually go with rotary and it finishes up well enough so i dont need to get my PC out. I was thinking about going with a flex just so i dont have to worry (as much) with taking a rotary to an aston martin but i think im just guna save my money.

If you don't want to jump to a rotary, then yes. I have a PC, Hitachi and a Flex.

Probably cut it by 50%

Not worth it over a PC IMO. If you have a PC, either go to a Flex or rotary.
 
After reading about the flex, I want one!



The "nubness" of the P/C is annoying and it takes forever to finidh a hard paint nicely.



Would a rotary be a better jump though? I do detailing as a weekend gig, so I don't want to pour money into anothher buffer and pads if I won't use it to it's full potential.
