Is this paste wax dried up?

Found last can of Megs #16 locally, got it only for $12CAD because it's discontinued. Got home, popped it open and it looks like it's dried up... i've never used paste wax before so i don't know if this is normal or not... i've attached some pics.

Do you think it's dried up? It feels like a candle, kinda hard and waxy. I'm gonna take a chunk and give it a try and find out if it's still useable or not.

I just picked up some #16 from PAC and it looks similar, not the same but similar. Being a more durable product I didn't expect it to look like s100 but more like Collinite #476 which it does.

Rather than taking "a chunk" of #16 try using a damp applicator of your choice (foam, terry, MF) and see how the applicator picks up product & see if it applies smoothly.

I've got a red tin of Mother's Cleaner Wax that I've had since the early 80's (found it in my Dad's garage) & it's a little crunchy around the edges but it still picks up easily with a terry applicator & spreads as easily as it ever did. Over 20 years old & still usable .... incredible. Guess the Mother's tin must seal really well.

$9 CDN???? Great deal!!

Panda_TSX, my tin of Meg's 16 looked almost identical to your! I used it a couple of weeks ago and it worked just fine. As a matter of fact it's raining here today and it's beading like crazy. I used the WOWO method and it worked great. Try it, IMO you will be very haappy with the results. Just DON"T like it dry to a haze, if you do be ready for a work out trying to remove it.

As already mentioned, use a moist applicatore and it will be fine. You'll find that as you swirl your applicator in it that it kind of melts/liquifies. Lots of pastes are similar to this and work fine.

sweet guys!! yeah it's pretty waxy still when u touch it.. i took a little and waxed the lid and it was very nice!!! looking forward to using #16...

yeah gotta love it, 12CAD after tax is good!!!

It's wierd isn't it? I has the same concern after getting my first tub of P21S. As soon as I started to use it though, I knew it was OK.

I started a thread a couple weeks ago asking the exact same thing about #16. Thats how mine tin looked and it's working fine.

Panda-TSX where in Canada are you located?

hey stevet, i'm from winnipeg manitoba.

Yah glad to hear the wax is ok, it would look bad if i had to take it back because they gave me a big fat discount on it.

You can always put the tin in a saucepan of simmering water and let it melt down. Then let it cool and set again. You'll be left with a perfect tin of wax, no bits etc.
