Is this a paint transfer or scraped to the primer?

Looks like paint transfer to me.
Get some 3M Adhesive Remover, it should rub right off.:woot:

It's transfer paint. Notice how the paint is jammed into the plastic door handle.

It is both. Once you remove the transfer you will see scratchers. Most of the time there are only a few that go deep.

I agree with this answer...it's probably both. Remove the transfer and then polish out damage to the paint underneath.

Someone in my apt garage did the same thing, but he actually kept driving toward the wall even though I can hear what's happening from inside my car. He just kept driving. I followed him for about a mile to see what he did, he just kept on driving :shocked
I found his car parked in the garage the next day, it was in a lot worse shape than your friend's. And 6 months later, it's still in that same shame, just rusty now. I bet the guy is still making payment on it, it appears to be a newer Maxima.
