Sonus Acrylic Spritz

Sonus Gloss Shampoo

ive been readin the forums a bit and this is what i found was pretty good

also .. should i use kasse SG or ps21 for a sealant?

if theres anything else please add :xyxthumbs

yup, that all looks good. As far as SG or P21S, you can use both!

Get as many layers of SG on there that you want (waiting 24 hours before each) and top it with P21S.

Welcome, btw!!!!

:wavey

There is plenty more that can be added to that list, but as far as paint care goes, you are right on!

well, the list look good, but just make sure that you are concentrating on process just as much as you are on the products, because even with the best products, without a sound foundation the results will still be mediocre.

And i second the replace p21S with S100, or even check out Poorboys Natty wax

I don't know if you should go with the Acrylic Spritz or the Carnauba Spritz. The AS is for going directly on top of the SG or other sealant, not carnaubas. And the CS is the same way, designed to go on top of the carnaubas. I would probably go with the CS since you are going to top SG with a wax, and if you ever get to a point where you are tired of reapplying the wax, then switch to the AS to maintain your SG.

i thought ps21 wouldnt cure on klasse sg? im not sure i read it somewhere on here..

but it will work? :D

is their any other steps i should add?

The P21S should work fine over the SG. I use Meg's #16 myself, but generally you can put carnaubas over SG just fine.

I'd add a good claying before you do the 1Z PP.

Oh, and you can use the AIO on the black plastic trim of the M3 (assuming it's that series), just don't let it dry, wipe it off while it's still wet. You can add SG if you use the w-o-w-o method. Much tidier than using dressings, IMO.

Oh, and Welcome to Autopia!

Sure, P21S (or any other carnauba) can cure on top of SG just make sure you wait for SG to cure completely before you apply it (at least 24 hours). Some people top SG with wax to prolong the durability of the SG, while others just like the look topping SG with a wax gives you.

As far as adding any steps, this all depends on what you are working with. Can you post some pictures of what you are about to detail? If your car is near perfect, you may not need PP whereas if you are wanting to remove bad oxidation and/or scratches and swirls, you may need something *more* aggressive than PP.

If you are going the manual route, maybe #80 is a better bet. I don't have any experience with it, but its supposed to break down easy (which is what you want when you are doing this by hand). I do AIO by hand and it seems to work quite well.

Nope, 1 coat per 24 hours.

Exactly, if you're doing this by hand it won't look quite as good and will be a LOT more work, so be prepared. Just use foam applicators for polishing and mf towels for removal. One of those handi-grip foam applicators will probably work the best and easiest.

SG, one coat per 24hour period maximum but you can put as many coats as you want. Most people say to go with between 3 and 6 coats for the best look and performance. You can also wait longer than 24 hours between coats, just as long as it is at *least* 24 hours.

hi i am new to this site as well and is in the process of detailing my car for the winter. i am pretty much using the most of the products as the original poster but was wondering if i had to use the 1z polishes. i have bought a new car and the finish is still shiny(8 months old). previously i used meguiars NXT system but found that it did not last long. i've read alot of this board and the consensus is that Klasse twins offer the best shine and durability. here was the steps i was planning to take:

wash

clay

AIO

SG

i understand that i have to wait 24 hours between SG layers but i drive this car daily as my commuter car. is it ok to put another layer of SG on after it has been driven? will the debri from the road mess up the finish?

i have always detailed my car by hand because i was afraid that using a machine to polish would mess up the car since i am not a professional. i know most people on this board swear by their PC. should i invest my time in one or stick to hand application?

Without trying to sound like a salesman.......yes, buy one. Unless your hand can move back and forth 5,000 times per minute, I would definitely buy a PC. Don't worry, you won't mess up your paint. It's not like a rotary at all, so don't be afraid. Basically, it just enhances what you can do by hand, and makes you car look better and your life a whole lot easier!

As far as not needing the 1Z polishes, the only person that can decide that is you. The only reason you would need a polish in the first place, is if you think your paint has dulled out a little or has some defects on it. If it's still near perfect, you don't need to polish right now.

You can AIO and SG by hand with no problem, and they will look great. Even if you had a PC, you would only be using it for your AIO. I would buy a handi-grip foam applicator to apply AIO and a microfiber applicator for the SG. Buy some mf towels too for the removal of these two products.

Unless your car lives in a sealed, dust free environment and never comes out, always wash your car before you rub on it with anything and this includes SG. You can put as many coats as you want, just as long as you wait at least 24 between them. You can even put a coat of your NXT on top of SG if you want, this will prolong your SG and might even look better.

Question #1: You don't need to use the 1z polishes unless you have marks, swirls, etc. to remove from the paint. Although after you wash and clay then examine your finish in a bright light you may see defects you didn't notice before and a mild polish will help clean those up.

Question #2: Just wash and dry it before you put on the next coat of SG

Question #3: Yes, invest in a PC. They are pretty much fool-proof to use and you will get better results with less effort.
