Is there anything worse... Droped the Souveran...

I dropped my BRAND NEW, NEVER BEFORE USED Pinnacle Souveran. Not the jar, the wax. I was trying to rub it on an applicator, tipping the jar upside down. Next thing I know (of course in slow motion) I see the wax falling to the concrete floor. It hit the floor and basically exploded.

Hopefully I will be able to shave off the sides of the big chunk to remove any dirt.

Very sad!

I feel your pain. You can heat the remaining wax slowly to the bare minimum to liquify and strain it through a cheesecloth into another container... might work, worth a try !

To be honest, I don't know if I would want to try to salvage it. I'd be so afraid of getting some hard particulates in the wax and then being rubbed into my clearcoat.

Gather up the wax, melt it and let the solids go to the bottom of the container. Allow to harden. Remove the wax and scrape off the contaminated bottom.

Is there anything worse? hmm... getting hit by a semi truck? that might be worse, but either way, that has got to painful. i'm sorry that you had to go through this. Look on the bright side though, i bet you never let it happen again!:)

Reminds me of the time I dropped a whole block of clay in the dirt...:o

Personally, I wouldn't use it again. It would be a shame to add to it by scratching the car due to the possible contamination. :(

You could have dropped the jar on the hood of your car.

Or you could have dropped your car and watched it explode into little peices... in super slow motion.

And getting hit by a semi would be bad too.

I feel your pain, too. Last weekend I had my jar of P21S in my hand and foam applicator in the other. I went to apply the wax to my bumper and I tilted the P21S jar slightly. Then I caught sight of the wax cake sliding right out of the jar and landing splat on the ground.:doh

I had never even removed the wax cake from the jar before. The hot garage temperature and I guess the heat from my hand had liquified a very thin layer of wax and it was all too obliged to slide out of the jar and right onto the not so clean garage floor.:nono Luckily it landed on a corner of the cake and I was able to just throw the dirty wax corner away and salvage the rest that was still clean and in one piece.

At least my mishap was only with a wax that cost about half as much as Souveran... :o

Man.......that's gotta hurt! Doesn't really make a difference with how much the wax costs.........Just sucks when it happens. Been there, Done that.
