Is Teflon still used in sealants?

A local detailer in AZ offers three packages: Premium wax, acrylic sealant, and Teflon sealant. They claim the acrylic and Teflon will last 1 and 3 years, respectively. In my browsing here in Autopia I see that those claims seem a bit bold. Maybe they are trying to justify price. I have noticed the best detailers here get money for correction results and prep work, not product longevity claims. That being said, I have two questions. First, I haven't heard of Teflon being used in a long time. Is this old technology? Does anyone know of a sealant I can get to last 1 year in the AZ sun? Curious on your thoughts. Thanks.

Teflon isn't old technology it's b.s. technology. Even the creators of Teflon, DuPont, say that Teflon does nothing unless it is backed on at very high temperatures. The Teflon on your cookware is baked on and people just hear the word "Teflon" and think of that. Basically people pay DuPont to use the name "Teflon" in their products.



And there is not a sealant I know of that will last a year. Unless it's on some sort of car that stays covered in a garage 24/7.

Ok, Duh!? I've searched many things here and did not search for "Teflon" before posting my question. Sorry. I just went back and read a few years of your bashing of Teflon. Thanks for the (past) input.
