Is Swissvax the New Cool ?

Would you be willing to sacrifice a pinky finger in a bet? Say a wax under $50 vs your most expensive on two identical cars?

Sometimes I think I can tell, but if it comes to a real bet, no way.

I feel the same way when it comes to wines and beers. I know that in a blind-tasting, I'm utterly hopeless. I know that I prefer Coca-Cola to Pepsi, but I only hope I can tell the difference in a blind tasting. :)

Like trying to spot different LSPs on a single panel or on some unfamiliar paint/vehicle, many taste testings are "just a little sip" which is completely different from having a whole "normal serving" of something. IIRC, that's why Pepsi often beats Coke in the "Pepsi Challenge" tests even though the same people really do prefer Coke IRL.

Swissvax has some pretty good waxes, but imo they really aren't worth the money. I can say the same things about other waxes that are in the hundreds to thousands of dollars..

I have many of the high end waxes from both Swissvax and Zymol and this is just my take. If you have the money and don't mind spending it( and won't miss the money) to try these waxes by all means buy them, if that's what you really want.

However, if you're on a budget, and if you're trying scrape and save your money just to see how they compare to the lesser priced waxes... I say keep your money, and don't go into debt just to buy a wax.

To be honest. I can't tell enough difference between many of these waxes "side by side" to say yeah, this 1k, 2k or 8k wax is that much better looks wise & durability over something like Collinite 915. If there are differences in looks it may only be slight.. Again nothing I can really tell. To each his or her own though.

The benefit of some of the higher end Zymol waxes are they are refillable for free for life, so if you detail professionally, this can be a benefit.

I went though 1 can/box of Mystery and 2 cans of Concorso over the past 2 years.

Most people liked that Mystery was a $500 car wax.

Now I use FK1000p at $15 per.

Good to see you posting again. Does this Mean that people liked knowing that you were using a $500 wax on their vehicles but there was no difference from the one costing $15?
