Is SSR2.5 worth the $12 if I have DACP already?

As the title asks. I am going to re-do my car soon, and of course my birthday is coming up, so this means I get to do a little shopping.

Key differences among the two? I'd like to go try Klasse AIO and SG. :) (I'm going to "borrow" some of TPGSR's SG and get some AIO. I'd say it's his least used protectant, along with NXT.)

Also I need some new pads. Is the orange cutting pad worth it? Or should I just buy more white ones and another gray one? I don't care for the yellow pads--I'll just bump up to a rotary if I need to do that much (infact, I have an unopened yellow pad that I bought at the same time last year).

:)

I say they are both good to have just in case.

yep, he's definately autopian...:D

nah, seriously as far as cutting ability i would say 2.5 has a *slight* edge over DACP but much easier to use.

Yes it breaks down finer, enough to a point where some individuals actually go straight to sealing. However for best results finish with a finer polish and I hear its well worth it! But otherwise, it was built without the need for a finer polisher after. :D

I would have both, for the reasons that spoiled man posted.

IMO, DACP is better at removing swirls, but 2.5 leaves a better finish.

I'll add this. 2.5 is a LOT less dusty and a LOT easier to remove than DACP! If I had to choose between the two, it would be 2.5.

I'll agree with this.

I like it a lot via rotary and a meguiars polishing pad. It breaks down really fast.

Good luck!

IIIIIIIIII GOT MY SAMPLE TODAY!!!!

I also got a sample of SG!

I have no AIO so I'm just going to break all the rules on this one! Hopefully my car will not burst into flames. Anyway, I'll try it in the next few weeks (possibly wait until the detail day in London )

I don't have DACP, but I just used SSR2.5 on a BLACK 1992 VW Corrado that was in very rough shape. Using the 7424 and a yellow CMA pad I'd say what I did was a miracle. Especially since it was pretty much my first time using the PC on my own w/ a new product, I tried the Orange CMA pad 1st but it didn't do what i hoped. I don't have the pics w/ me as the camera is at my friend's but I will get the pics up to show the before and after. The paint isn't near perfect, but it's 110% better looking than it was. I only hope the old 2MP digicam I took the pics w/ show the detail of before and after. The SSR2.5 is very easy to work w/ and achieved results I definitely did not expect, I did step up to a 5.5-6 on some more stubborn marks. Highly recommended, and it smells nice too.

What I used:

Joy dish detergent

Autopia Clay Bar + Gold Class Wash/Water mixture in spray bottle

SSR 2.5/ Yellow CMA Pad

Menzerna FTG/ White CMA Pad

Liquid Souveran/ Red CMA Pad

When you say it breaks down faster, how long would you say DACP takes vs. SSR2.5, in a moderate temperature?

I didn't know there was a 2.5, I thought there was only a 1,2,3?

I'd say the SSR 2.5 was broken down w/in 30 seconds, after that I felt it was doing more polishing than cutting. I also didn't use a lot of product about 6-8 1/4" drops spread out on the pad.
