Is Souveran worth the price?

Comparing FMJ , likely rebottled *********, to PS is like an apples to pineapple comparision. Sealant vs. Natural Wax.



Souveran is truly one of those waxes you must try and somepoint. It competes with waxes like Zymol's EG's at nearly a 1/3 the cost. Durability is a challenge, but not when you use it properly along with the soap and CM spray. At 59.99 currently, or the kit you have a seriously great product one that is not matched by any other product. And thats the problem, to many products are starting to look the same. It truly is one product worth having, even if saved for those special occasions, and well for testing all other products against. PS is consistently used as the basis or judgement for looks in all other products, be it sealant or natural wax.
 
For all out looks, Souveran is hard to beat. In fact, I haven't found a carnauba I like more. Natty's Blue is probably my second choice because it's so wet looking, but Pinnacle Sig II is also a very nice wax that I've found to work well on all colors, metallic or not. I'm also a big fan of Meg's #26 when I want to use a liquid.



Souveran is king of the hill, though. On certain colors, a Souveran'd hood, for example, almost seems to be in motion, as if it's come to life, with all the shimmering.



Now that I've got two silver metallic cars, if I were out of Souveran, I'd probably not order more. Red, black, dark blue, dark green, etc. Souveran is head honcho.
 
I've seen a side by side comparison done with Natty's and Souveran on Deanski's red lexus and it was *very* close. Had on not watch him apply one and then the other, I would have never known it was two different waxes.



Maybe for the members who aren't satsified with Natty's might want to look at Trade Secret. It's a tad more expensive than P21s but still cheaper then Souveran.

As far as looks Souveran is hard to top (especially on red and black), but Collinite offers pretty decent looks along with much more durability.



I would consider Souveran as a beauty wax for warmer weather when you can apply it more often, but Collinite for more durable winter protection from road salt and such. Collinite will also hold up much better if you ever go through a touchless car wash when it's too cold to wash.

I happen to be a big Souveran fan so my answer is yes it's worth buying. I've used a number of big $$$ waxes, including several of Zymol's offerings, Victoria's products, CG's 50/50 and the list goes on. It's still my favorite wax. If you're looking at trying it for the first time, AG has it on sale right now at $59. You can also use forum discounts. This brings it down to less than $55. That's almost palatable for anyone looking at trying a premium wax. At the current price it's certainly worth $10 more than 50/50.

If you wait long enough it's likely that you'll find a post that matches about any position you care to find. I too like Natty's Blue it's a great wax but I can see a difference between the two products. Is it worth the difference? That's a question that can only be answered once you've tried it.

I'm assuming you meant "better" or "different" in your question. I believe most people can see a difference in a heads up comparison. It comes down to personal preference as to which one a person likes better.
 
I've never used PS. I am tempted to add it to my collection though. I think some folks eyes/brain can detect differences that other may not. I seem to be one of those folks that can't detect clear differences between many products. I have this problem with some waxes and definately with QD's. I bet I've used a dozen QD's over the last 16 years mobile cleaning and still barely can see a difference on most days.
 
I haven't used 5050 or Souveran yet, but from what everyone tells me P21S is a 'warmer' look, if you're going for wetness then the 5050 or Souveran will give you that over the P21S.



I have used P21S a lot and 'warm' is exactly how I would describe it. Brings out the flakes on my metallic white paint very well.
 
P21S is a great wax but Souveran is better in terms of wetness. Big improvement in fact. It's simply an amazing product.
