lately my neighbors tree has been giving sap like rain. it goes all over our cars and theres even new sap right after a wash, thats how fast it gives sap. i almost have to wash the cars everyday to keep the sap from lyaering like pancake over the paint. i dont want to wash everyday though. is sap dangerous if i let it sit for a few days? and theres hardly any shade in our driveway.

I've had the same problem with sap on my cars. I had to wipe down my car three times while cleaning it! :angry I hate the stuff. My neighborhood is full of trees so it's not just one tree. Fortunately this car sits in the garage most of the time so once I wipe it down it's put away. This weekend when I work underneath it I'll put the cover on so as avoid the pollen/sap scenario.

With my daily driver I just wipe it down every day. It rained today so that probably helped and now I have a good reason to wash, clay and put another coat of NXT on. If you don't have a garage perhaps you can put a canopy up over the cars or cover them?

Put 2 or 3 of those Long Horn Japanes Bettle on those tree. This will take care those tree and rest of tree in your block too

Can you put car cover on your car?

no way am i putting a cover over the car. you know theres tons of vandalizers here in NYC! before i know it, the car cover is probably cut into a million pieces and tons of scratches on the paint. i have a car cover though but my mom brought it 5+ years ago from kmart for 45 dollars. ill check what brand it is. i think its going to cause swirls too.

I'm come by, if I'm not busy with these :shocked

Hate those trees. I'd just detailed my dad's TL and he came back from parking on the street in downtown DC and it was covered with little drops of sap... like it was sprayed on... Luckily, the Zaino and quick catch made it easy to clean off - water only and hose dried.

Of course, I parked in an old neighborhood for an hour-long meeting the next day and got the same result :P

Get it off and keep it off. A good protectant or wax should help.

I have a new idea for a product, sap/solvent = new sealant. Lol, sorry couldn't resist, sap is bad real bad. It is without a doubt the #1 cause of preventable irreversible paint damage that I get from my customers. People think they can procrastinate when removing sap and I say hell no, get it off. Goof Off and poof, you saved yourself having to paint a panel.

i better get some QEW to save some time when i wash it everyday! or im going to have to get some long horn japanese beatles on that sap machine. i gotta upload a pic so you guys can see how serious 4 days w/o washing the car is like. its like snow covered!
