Is Pinnacle Souverän worth the money?

I think you need to ask yourself (SELF)...is this a show car and therefore longevity isn't an issue, or a daily driver whereas protection would be just as important than shine. I'd try it tho, because shine is as much a matter of subjectivity as trying to find the BEST restaurant in the area.......jmho

I bought it last week for $45 plus shipping and its worth every penny BUT I have so many other waxes that are way cheaper and IMHO are much better I can list a few

VICTORIA WAX-RED

WORLDS BEST WAX

LUSSO ORO

TRADE SECRET

NATTY'S BLUE

CLEARKOTE MW

CG 50/50

PETE'S 53

So you see it's what you want to pay

Im just a sick carnuba person

I've tried quite a few sealants and waxes on my black C6 and for me it's Souveran and RMG all the way. It is not expensive if you apply it with a PC. It goes on very thin that way and stretches beyond belief. Natty's blue was a close second place but for the ease of use and great smell I'll stick with Souveran. :)

Sov is a great looker like Sean said...but also like he said the elements kill it fast...

Now a good wax is the Victoria wax.. little cheaper ..looks as good and last much longer...

50/50 from CG is a good one also...and Petes53....

but do not over look megs #26 wax..for the money its a very good looker and more durable than SOV...it also darkens paint ....

Also for a nice liquid wax try Clearkotes Moose wax...ask scottwax about it...it looks great and wears like a sealant...

also the Tropi Care wax is very nice...very wet..deep and very durable....

-Is it a good wax? Yes.

-Is it worth the money? Well you tell me! What you have to do is state what qualities you would like to get out of a wax.

Sure statements like 'the best looking' or 'the longest lasting' are obvious statements to make, but the reality is that the best looking will never be an issue because waxes as a whole do very little for the look of the paint, rather how well the paint is polished and prepped is how good it looks. When discussing the durability of a wax it usually is a matter of 'the wax is a PITA to work with, so it better last long' type of issue. If waxing was as easy as applying a quick detailer, protected just as well as any other wax, but it only lasted just under a month for you, would durability really be an issue? I would probably guess not as you would probably just reapply after every wash to keep your paint looking great since it would only take 10 minutes to do the whole car! Likewise, waxes like Collnite are a PITA to work with, but they last a bit longer, yet if a bird bomb or water spots stay on for more than a few hours in direct sunlight, well crap, you got to wax again!

So take your circumstance into consideration on whether this is going to be a daily driver, what type of environment is it in, is it garaged or not, and so forth. Rather looking into a wax that looks great or last long, rather look into a wax and maintenance products that will always keep your car beading up, protected, looking great, and won't give you a headache in maintaining your beauty.

Just checked out Lusso Oro's site. They mention Lusso Oro is available as a 2 oz Sampler (good for several waxes) at $7.50. I couldn't add to my cart though.

Soveran is worth every penny but usually can be gotten in kit to save money. they suggest using their soap and soveran spray wax together to keep it up too. use discount code autopia and save 10percent too.

Will it last longer than one week on a daily driver ? :bawling: :bawling: NO

Well I think that about sums it up. I don't think this the wax for my daily driver. I have the premium worlds best it shines amazing but has very poor durability. I think for this summer I will put an order in for lusso oro as it seems to have good reviews for both shine and durability. I also plan to apply quick detailed as its something ihave never done!

Actually, I usually find that Collinite holds up pretty well to baked-on bird bombs!

For those of you mentioning the Clearkote wax, I'm sure you mean Carnauba Moose Wax, right (as opposed to Moose Wax, their all-in-one)? CMW's very nice--noticeably darkens the paint. Looks even better in conjunction with RMG.

As far as Souveran goes, looks great on red and black, super-easy to apply, and smells really nice (at least to me). Not sure if I would pay $85 though--that's kinda steep. I don't remember paying that much when I got mine (I think it was $65 or something).

It was worth me buying it at $69, have a really nice shimmer (really the only way to describe it) that lasts a few weeks, although it will bead a lot longer. I use it when I want a little extra pop to my finish, or on a few of my customer's garage queens.

I use Carnauba Moose a lot more because the look last longer and the durability is better.

hows the beading action on Souverän? Any pics/vids of it would be appreciated!

Pete

Sorry no PS beading pics. The beading is nothing special. The 476,845 and 16 are all much better beaders.

I bough two pots of Souveran for $35 each. They are both still sitting on the shelf, I keep reaching for my Pete's '53 or Lusso Oro.

A little review I did:

http://autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/101476-9-wax-showdown.html

Collnite does hold up well to bird bombs, that is for sure, but I have yet to find anything that will hold up to water spots and bird bombs in the summer SoCal sun for more than a day, which is why I say that it takes no more than a matter of hours to eat past the coat of wax.

I see wax as a sacrificial barrier so that it takes a less abrassive method to get rid of containments making the worst damage to your surface a simply matter of topping the coat of wax off.
