I agree....placebo effect. In my case tho i feel it's not because i had already done 3 coats and didn't see anything i felt was any better than the last. then the 4th coat and it really was noticeable. So no placebo effect there, it really did work. I will probably do more coats and see what happens. Heck, it take a few minutes and it's kinda fun !

you can wax a car, bike, plane, etc. all you want...if you are doing no proper prep, its still going to look mediocre compared to polishing it first!
do a side by side and see the difference for yourself!
With the amount of time you will need to "let the wax cure and harden on the paint" you can polish it twice over...all the same time achieving better results...isn't that what you are after? unless I am missing something...
but do whatever makes you happy, after all, I know some people find detailing therapeutic and just like to "get away" to the garage for a little alone time
I understand that, but like i said the bike is brand new and a pretty high end motorcycle and i don't feel it needs polishing. But my point and I can't understand why it gets ignored, is that it DID get deeper and wetter with 4 coats, and in fact so deep and wet i haven't seen that degree of gloss since back in the day using products that no longer exist in the same form at least. It's been years since i've had that kind of gloss, but i got that with 4 coats of NXT. Thats the one point that gets completely ignored and i'm lost as to why. it doesn't matter if it doesn't work for someone else...it did for me, and why would i want to do something differently that doesn't work as good on my bike because that product/method didn't work for someone else? Thats all i'm saying.
