Is Menzerna IP safe for old ss paint?

About 2 years ago i used IP and FPII on my black 83 VW. The original paint was in decent shape.



About 4-6 months later, I noticed that the paint on the top of my passenger fender started to flake off. Do u think that the using Ip had anything to do with this flaking?



My car needs a good polishing now- due to drive through car washes and improper washing and drying methods.



What polish can I use to remove swirls/imperfections without further damaging any of the black single stage paint?

no, I think the flaking paint was because it is OLD. any polish will work with any pad on any car with any paint....

At the moment, I can't think of a single exception to this rule.
