Is It OK To Wash All MF Towels Together?

Hi, everyone, I just bought the "Starter Kit" which includes:
16" Velvet Smooth Glass Towel
16" Work Towel
16" Deluxe Microfiber Towels
16" Mega-Plush
24 x 36 Waffle weave
Chenille Wash Mitt
Ultra Mega Towel and Super Smooth Applicator
I plan on washing all of those MF towels (accept the Waffle weave which I will just air dry after each use) and my question is:

Is it ok to wash all of the MF towels together in the washer?

Suppose I use one towel to clean the inside windows of my car which has Huper Optik tint (very expensive tint), and use another towel for polishing and a third towel for waxing and a forth towel to clean the rims....if I mix them in the washer the detergent I use (Tide) should clean the towels 100% correct? So that none of the polish, wax, rim cleaner gets on the other towels?

Also, should I air dry them or put them in the dryer for 10 minutes or so?

And how much tide should I be using?

I'm really excited about the starting kit since I will be upgrading from Target/Walmart towels! :yay:wall

This first time yes. But after that I would wash them all separately.

You don't want your glass & drying towels getting "contaminated with wax of polish or cleaners. At least that is how I do it.

As for detergent make sure it is a "Free & Clear". You don't want any additives in the wash to mesh with your towels as they are expensive. And NO fabric softener. I personally prefer a dedicated MF Cleaner like BF MF Cleaner.

I will also soak the microfibers after using them and try to remove products beforehand. Just find what works for you and is easy but effective. Right now I haven't jumped to a dedicated MF cleaner, but just use All liquid detergent, since it's as said above free, clear, no dyes or scents, etc...

I always wash them together, and will continue to do the same. There's never any obvious contamination. I wash all MF at 160 degree water temperature.

My favorite detergent is Charlie's Soap.

Exception: I don't use MF towels on tires, wheels or jambs. I use cheap terry towels for that. I think the 12x12 terry towel is .10 each in a box of 100. Use and toss.

I haven't had any issues washing them all together, but then again I don't use dedicated glass towels either. Extra rinse and spin cycles help a lot.

I don't see any issues washing them together. Personally I wash my pakshak towels in one load. My mitts and drying towels together and misc towels like polish, clay, lsp towels together. Haven't noticed an issue yet.

I seperate my glass and drying towels into one load and all the other MF's go in a load together.

Which type of Charlie's soap do you recommend? Liquid or powder?

I separate into 2 different loads, that's it. I don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.

1) Interior / Wheel / Tire / my crap towels

2) Paint - My good towels

I do this as well

I don't go through alot of towels only doing a vehicle or two per week so I wash them all together. If I have some that are really filthy I'll presoak them in APC first. As my collection and quality of towels increase I will begin to do 2 loads like Colin.

My question is how often do you all wash your towels? Directly after every use or on a weekly/bi-weekly basis? Will leaving them to sit for a week cause any issues?

I wash mine together since I don't currently have a MF towel cleaner.... I can tell you it has ruined any chances of those towels ever being used to clean windows again. Im going to have to go buy more MF towels and wash them separately. Also, when waxing I have noticed my buffing towels get covered in loose fibers that get spread over the car. Im going to have to change the way I wash my towels very soon.
