where i am located, it would be easier for me to decontaminate the paint in my apartment parking lot, and go to my gf's sisters house to use the PC.

would this be ok, or should i try to decon. and PC as close as possible?

Yes.

I'd rewash after driving to remove any dust/dirt that may accumulate during the drive over to where you will be using the PC, but you can probably get away with a good QD or PB's S&W in place of the wash step before proceeding to polish.

The thing to remember is that after decontamination the paint will be bare, no protection. Which isn't all *that* big a deal as long as you don't leave it exposed to the elements for too long.

This is one reason I hate waiting to wax after a fresh repaint, like my car's getting this week. Especially since I don't have a garage to park in at night. I'm lucky that I do get to park in a parking garage at work, but even that's a mixed blessing because then it's impossible to park away from other cars.

Just glaze it while the paint's curing. I use Meg's #5 but there are others you can find a lot easier (Deep Crystal step #2 comes to mind).

I used #5 on the Volvo after its paint work, and it was outside 24/7. Isn't the kind of protection you get from wax/sealants, but it's better than nothing. Gotta reapply after every wash though...

Yes, I intend to keep it glazed. I have some #5 and I'm pretty sure I have some of that DC #2 as well if I haven't managed to get rid of it yet. I also bought some RMG from another member here and it should be here in the next day or two. I've been wanting to try RMG anyway. Any opinion on whether I should wait a day or two before applying the glaze? The body shop does bake the paint (as much as you can bake a repaint).

I also wonder to what extent a QD or PB SnW will remove glaze.

Dunno about stuff removing the glaze, but I'd assume it won't be good for it ;)

I don't see any reason to wait with the #5. The stuff is supposedly *paintable* and if you can take that literally, well, it should be OK.
