Is FMJ safe for fresh paint?

I've had this bottle of FMJ here for a while and I want to use it on the MG for the show tomorrow. I'm going over it now with SSR1 to give it that nice final polish. I'm thinking about Trying the Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze topped by FMJ. I just don't know if it is safe for fresh paint. I know Zaino is, so I wondered if FMJ fell along those same lines.

If not, I may just go with a coat of RMG and call it a day. Then I can concentrate on those damn chrome wire wheels...

Most any sealer should be safe for new paint. Stay away from anything with carnuba in it, and you should be fine.

I just went with Red Machine Glaze topped by Carnauba Moose Wax (for the not repainted panels). I figure that if I'm putting the car into a show, I should at least use stuff that I sell. :)

my 2¢...
Silicone is also something that should also be avoided in working with fresh paints -- many waxes, sealers, and glazes do contain it. A good rule of thumb -- if it doesn't specify that it's "body shop" safe, it probably isn't!!

i agree!! thats why i recomended meguiars products to Scott in another post

also you can use #34 as a quick detailer and to add slickness to the finnish as it is body shop safe

how fresh is fresh? after 30 days feel free to top with anything you like but before that no sealants or waxes the paint must be able to breathe and cure. As posted above meguiars ,or other glazes are usually fine .

Yep.

I've even gone to the extent of carnauba'ing a just painted/dried surface. Over 30-ish days, it became a little cloudy. A quick couple passes with FPII cleared it right up and has been fine since.
