Is DG AW layerable?

I did an experiment with my Craftsman lawn tractor. It has dark green single stage paint. I polished it ZPC and a 4" white pad first. Then I used ZAIO. Then I applied 2 coats of AW about 2 hours apart, looked great with high gloss and good reflection. The next day I applied 2 more coats and the gloss was the same but it looked more optically thick and lost a little sharpness in the reflection. The next day I applied 2 more coats. It lost some of the gloss and started looking muted and lost more sharpness in the reflection. The next day I did 2 more coats and it lost more gloss and reflection and it didn't look like the AW I've become used to anymore. I did 2 more coats the next day to make sure the trend continued and it did. I should have stopped at 4 or 5 coats. The

look went downhill after that.

I use AW as a topper over Zaino sealants on my customer's cars instead of Z-8. I think the AW lasts longer and weathers nicer over the long run. I use Z-8 on my car all the time so I don't have to worry about it. But my customers would only be getting Z-8 the one time that I do it. So I think AW is a better choice for them.

Well. at least I won't have to worry about my tractor needing protection for quite a while.

Sounds like too much of a good thing to me. Kinda like when I first discovered Budweiser - doing great till the earth started spinning backwards!

IIRC somebody stated in a post here recently that they talked to the folks at DG about AW and the DG guy said that AW will in fact be muted if you use it too often.

This gibes with DJBailey's experiment.

IIRC DG also recommended that you use it about once a month for optimal looks as opposed to once a week or more frequently.
