Is 22PLE just rebranded GTechniq?

^ OMG. What a headache. Honestly, I don't know how you do it. I can't stand doing good work twice. If it was me, I'd just be waxing it with something nice and that would be the end of it.

Prepping and coating a car is a major amount of work. Doing it twice? Crazy. Aren't these products supposed to make things easier???

You said it my friend. The real bummer is that the 22PLE is coming right off the paint with a short pile MF and some CarPro Eraser. Total crap. I'm stripping the car and going with CQUK and Reload. I had great results with those on my Boxster once I got the application sorted out. A word to the wise if you're looking at 22PLE: it's a great big expensive bottle of snake oil. No website, no support, no good... I really am convinced it is just GTechniq with some kind of "additive" so that they can say it's different. And for the 22PLE rep to insist that all silica based coatings produce spotting is BS. I never had problems with CQUK on my Boxster and it certainly didn't wipe off with CarPro Eraser after curing for a week either.

I seriously considered going back to Zaino or something simple like BFWD but I honestly think the protection of CQUK is worth the effort. I'm just praying I don't get the streaking issues that some have talked about. I had some problems doing my father's black 991 with the older version of Reload. The clear bra didn't like it one bit.

I have used oc2.0 amd GTech EXO v1 amd v2 over xpel ultimate and scotch guard amd venture shield all successfully

I really like the EXO coatings. Never used the c1 although I think I have a bottle. I was originally going to use it as a base but decided not to when a member radar ryan had an issue.

After a long Memorial day weekend which included 4 vehicle washes of which 2 were full details I applied EXO v2 on one and 22ple on the other and I can state without a shadow of a doubt these are not the same products despite the bottle being similar. As I opened the package I noticed the bottles and tops appeared to be similar and remembered this thread. I thought well I be dammed, the bottle is the exact same, wonder if these are the same coatings? After my first swipe of 22PLE I knew they were not the same products. They flash differently, smell differently, set up in different time frames and feel different during the application and buff off process.

I will be doing a write up of these 2 details once I get all the pictures uploaded and will compare and contrast the 2 coatings.

I am aware that EXO is a different product. I was asking specifically about 22PLE and GTechniq C1.

Sorry, I should have re read the first post before I added my comment. I also have c1 in the garage. I will pop it open as soon as I have a reason to use it and I will report back.

Have a good night.

Jeff
