I just purchased an iPad just to see how it would help at work. There are many nice apps such as notepad, calendar, mapping/gps apps, and the ability to access my home computer from a remote location. So far, it is very nice. The keyboard is very responsive, much more than I had thought. Anyway, so far, I like....I haven't had the chance to try the 3G yet, but in due time I wil.

Do you take credit cards? Have you considered Square? Great App. Intuit gopayment is great too but no way to swipe card. Card reader w/ square is free. Best of luck as I really want an iPad for my business too..great to help sell - show photos of your work etc.

I use mine for personal stuff only, but I really love it. When it first came out, I thought (and said many times), who needs an oversized iPhone. Well, I had to eat my words, its a great laptop alternative if you don't do too much typing. The battery is simply amazing, I go for a week before it needs a charge. Some cool apps to check out:

-Evernote:Awesome notes app that syncs between most popular platforms so you have your notes on your PC, phone and iPad

-iCab:A browser that has so many needed features and true tabbed browsing.

-42: Awesome calculator

-Flipboard: view stuff like facebook and your favorite news pages in a newspaper like format

-USA Today

-Words with Friends HD: Play scrabble with anyone that has an iphone or ipad, regardless of where they are

We've had one for a few months for the business. We use it primarily as our photo album (befores and afters). We also use it as our vehicle sign in form, sure cuts down on paper build-up.

I agree that the battery is awesome! I really like the team viewer app, which allows me to access my home computer while on the road. The only regret is not getting it earlier and missing out on the unlimited 3G for 30.00. For now, I just have to watch my usage at 25.00 for 2gb of info..

I bought the family one for Christmas but yet to get at it. First off I am going to download and update to the new OS. All reviews I have read from trade magazines here at work is....this is a must. Makes the Ipad a lot nicer even though you still are saddled with Itunes and no USB. I'll let you know my thoughts soon.

If you have thought about jailbreaking it, hold off on the update, the newest OS can only be jailbroken with a tethered method, meaning you essentially have to jail break it everytime you restart it. There are some really neat things you can do once the ipad is jailbroken, you get true multitasking, direct access to your files as well as some other pretty amazing feats which could take up pages here.
