IP didn't cut it!

Well I need something more agressive then IP. It worked well on the swirl marks but the hood has alot of spots that didn't come off. I dont know exactly what it is. I used IP with orange pad and went over it 2x. Looking at Megs DACP, Sonus 1? Sound about right?

Or was thinking about buying some Optimum Hyper Compound. Should I go ahead and get the OHC and OC? Try the OC first or is it about the same as IP?

Wow, you have started a lot of threads tonight. Do you have pictures of the defect? How is your technique? By 2x do you mean two separate applications or just 2 passes over the same area?

2 seperate applications. Haven't heard much about the Power Gloss so wasn't really sure about it. I have heard alot about the others.

Optimum hyper has the same cutting power as IP unless you use a wool pad.

Sonus SFX 1 which is 1200 grit or Powergloss will get it out

Do you have access to hi temp products?

Their levelers are said to be awesome

do you have a picture of the spots?

when I here spots & hood I think paint chips from rocks

...if that is the case only paint will fix it

IMO two applications of a product like IP isn't very much work so you either oughta do it a bunch more times or switch to something more aggresssive.

FWIW, I've done maybe six or eight applications of H-T EC by rotary with a cutting pad on some parts of my M3 and it still isn't perfect.

Does Presta Strata Ultra Cutting Creme Rubbing Compound have more cut than menzerna IP...?

I'm looking for something a little stronger too.......

Matt, the new OHC is on par with Power Gloss. The old formula was a bit too mild, but this became basically the regular OC.

OHC on par with Power Gloss? Not in my experience.

I'm not cutting on Optimum polishes, they are at the top of the class at their price point, but no where close to Menzerna polishes.

PG may dust, but that's well worth it for the superior results IMHO.

GBG TL, yes, the new formula got significantly stronger. It is thinner and light blue colored. The tan old OHC is now the OC (sort of). And if you can't get any cut with them, you are probably use too much.

Well I ended up buying some Sonus SFX1. Hope it does the trick. Should I follow it up with IP then FPII or straight to FPII then top?

Yes do so. It will work very nicely. You can really feel the grit in it but it breaks down fantastically well. My favourite 1000-1200 grit compound
