Interior Leather repair

I have a little cut on my new leather armrest handle. There is a piece of leather about 1cm hanging out. Its very small and unoticable to an untrain eye but it just kills me to know its there.

My question is what sort of adhesive have people use to glue leather back together. I dont want that area to harden up as it is currently buttery soft.

I probably just need a little dab of it to glue that small piece back to the armrest.

This is for a 2002 BMW black leather.

Thanks in advance.

just buy a new armrest. 100 some dollars at the dealership.

I dont really want to remove and tear up my interior if I dont have too. I was looking for a quick fix with some sort of leather adhesive. It is only a little piece hanging and cant see myself spending about $200 and having to match the grade and texture of the leather even if its from the dealership.

Hmm, maybe try rubber cement. That stays flexible even after it dries. If you can see any light coloured foam padding through the cut I'd try colouring it black with some felt marker or something so you can't see it.

Just some ideas, not based on experience, but I don't see why they wouldn't work.

HTH and good luck.

I'm not sure I understand where this pieces is loose from so I'll offer a generic repair of gluing leather to the foam pad underneath it. If this is not the case please post a pic and I'll figure out something else for you. I used to work as a seat designer for the worlds largest OEM seat manufacturer. If I were you I would pick up some 3M spray adhesive. Mask off what you don't want glue on. The glue is made to stick to itself so you have to put it on 2 surfaces. Spray some of the glue on a piece of paper and then use a popsickle stick to spread it on both pieces. Let dry until tacky then put the 2 pieces together. This glue will not harden the leather.
