I have a customer that requests to not have anything put on his dash and vinly because he hates the smell that vinly cleaners and protectants have. the problem is that his interior is all black and very dusty- i have not found a good way to clean and get all the dust and dirt off without using any cleaner or protectant. any suggestions? any products that dont have that plasticy smell?
 
I use Meguiars Cockpit Shine or Cleaner or something. They renamed it and I cant remember the name..its Megs Cockpit something...but anyways it smells very nice and does not smell like plastic at all.
 
Try Poorboys Natural Look or Adam's VRT.
Both products leave a look like there is nothing on the dash but give it life.
Natural Look also has a nice clean smeeling fragrance.
 
Use compressed air and a very soft bristol brush with an all purpose cleaner ( I recomend Stoners Trim Cleaner or Knights Spray Nine). I then use Stoners Trim Shine and buff off any excess with a MF towel. The interior will look clean and new and will not have a greasy shine after buffing with the MF towel.

BTW... Trim shine really has no smell.
 
A damp MF (or 2) will handle the dust and any light surface dirt. PB's NL can give you a very nice look, but the scent (more fruity than "clean smelling" IMO) will give you away. The scent is not long lasting, or overpowering, but definitely noticeable especially to a customer who has already stated a preference. An option would be to cut the NL 50/50 with water and then leave the doors and windows open and hope that the scent is gone before the customer returns. Otherwise, I would respect his wishes and try option #1.
 
NL has a cherry scent to it, like other's have said it does not last long, maybe an hour or two. Use a MF dampen with water and you should be good to go.
 
I used Wolfgang's vinyl and rubber dressing yesterday in my car. I do not remember it having any scent and it leaves a very nice, natural look.
 
Try RaggTopp vinyl protectant. IT is very high in UV protection and has a natural look with no odor. It is excellent stuff and performs beautifully on interior vinyl.

I was informed that the product is going to have a name change to Wolfstein's Pro Series to get the "topp" away from the marketing end so that it may be more accepted as a conventional protectant without the specific purpose as "RaggTopp" suggests. The trademark will be continue to be its "topp" protection for which the product ws designed.

I agree with the damp MF application for dust and light dirt. Can't miss.
 
I would suggest Adams VRT. I have used it with great results. Leaves a natural look and there is no unpleasant smell.
 
If I remember correctly, Steve addressed this in another thread,saying that if you left the top off of the NL then the scent would either be greatly reduced or will eventually go away(cant' remeber which)...maybe Steve will see this thread & comment..

The Wolfgang has a great matte look however it smells like cologne...I just checked my bottle again because I remembered how much I liked the smell.

The Wolfgang is right up there with Cockpit Premium in terms of the matte finish it leaves.

I am very fussy about my dash too and I have found my dash dressing!! :bigups

I would approach the customer with a product like Cockpit Premium or the Wolfgang Vinyl & Rubber Protectant and get him to smell it before I applied it to be sure that the smell won't be offensive and offer a guarantee - if he doesn't like the look or smell offer to remove the product with a damp microfiber. Just an idea.

Hmm...my bottle has so little scent that it is really hard to tell what the scent is. Whatever the scent is, it is certainly not offensive. The greasy look and solvent like smell of Armor All and other crummy products give quality dressings a bad reputation.

I just want something that will get it clean and looking good, but not look or smell as if there is product on it.


Poorboy's Spray and Wipe and a microfiber have kept my interior in awesome shape!

This stuff is truely about the most versatile product that I have ever used!!!

I never thought about that...use #6347 for Spray & Wipe
