Interior cleaner - Simple Green??

Hey,

I have a car that has coffe and soda spilled all over the interior..... not to mention the ground in dirt and such that we're used too...

My typical vinyl dressings aren't doing as well as I'd hoped...

I was considering using diluted simple green as a cleaner, then topping it with the dressing..

Thoughts?

Anything that's worked for you in the past??

Thanks!

I'm not sure if it is Butyl Cellosolves(sp?) or Sodium Hydroxide that SG uses, but it's a fairly "hot" product and I wouldn't trust it on Simple Green. I'd get some other APC that's not "hot" something like Meguiars or AutoInt, or even Alcohol(for the vinyl) before I'd use simple green. That's just MO.

Seems like it depends a lot on what part of the interior you're trying to clean, but Simple Green seems a little strong for the interior. It is however a great degreaser for engines.

I am also curious about this...I would not use it on my seats but how about to remove salt stains from carbets or even just to clean the plastic pieces of the doors and dash ???

or would an APC like Meguiars Extra be a better bet for the interior pieces??

Test a small area first for discoloration. The strength of simple green is dependent on the dilution. As far as the safe bet go get some automotive multisurface cleaner like Armor All cleaner or Meguiars Extra. Then again thoes product say to test a small area first.

SG diluted 10:1 works just fine for cleaning stains from plastic interiors, especially from smokers vehicles. Never had a problem with oclor fastness.

I'm not a big fan of this product (too alkaline ) and anything that could cause problems with a metal like Aluminimu I wouldn't clean an interior with.

FWIW- 303 Learner & Spot Remover cleans everything I've ever used it on safely and without 'bleaching'fabric/leather
