Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site, a ton of good information! This is my first complete clay/polish/seal/wax. Thanks to Jngrbrdman for his advice. I don’t feel that I am anywhere near the caliber of the folks on this site, but you have to start somewhere.:o

This car has original (1997) paint and I think the first owner was towed by gravel trucks to and from work every day! There is also a lot of orange peel. Sorry that I don’t have any before pictures. The car had a lot of etched water spots on the hood. Other then the water spots, decent paint for its age, just some scratches, dings and swirls.

Process:

All work done with a PC 7336

Washed with NXT

Clay with Mothers CB

Orange LC with Presta ULCC (on hood for water spots)

Orange LC Pinnacle ASR

White LC Pinnacle AFP

Black LC 4* UPP x3 over several days

Black LC S100

Hey, I'd say that looks pretty freaking amazing if you ask me. Great work!!! That third picture is my favorite. UPP is an outstanding product and topping it with S100 for the final blow is exactly what I would have done. That just looks spectacular!

your car looks absolutely stunning!

did your car not come with GSR blades or hammerheads?

very nice selection of scenery too! :)

the tennesee license plate is all artsy and kinda cool looking. Matches the scenery. any close up of the paint shots?

Your making me miss my LS

i love that green, maybe try taking pictures on the pavement or road to make it stand out even more!... how long did the process take you?

Thanks for all of the compliments. Thanks again Anthony! I’m pretty happy with the way that turned out. I like the look of the UPP. The wait time between coats got me some smart comments from my wife for “waxing the car 4 times in a week. :chuckle:

Kaval – Thanks! The wheels are the stock ‘97 GSR wheels (I’ve heard them called LS Mesh or meshies). The blades look sharp but came in ’98 :(

I’d like a wheel with fewer spokes (knuckle buster when trying to clean). However, they are very light so it’s been hard for me to justify replacing them.

MSP – The east side of the state is a beautiful part of the country to live in. I don’t have any good before pictures. I’m working on learning the camera settings for good before and after comparison pictures like you see on this board. So far everything is either over or under exposed.

If you look in the reflection of the window casing you will see some of the water spots. The hood was riddled with them. Also you can see how dull the reflection is.

This is a closer shot of the side. You can really see the peel here… and the door dings!

Here is a larger shot of the hood.

Chaos – I would like to get some cityscape pictures. The process probably took 10 to 14 hours counting the 3 coats of UPP and the wax. I was looking at it as a learning process so I took my time. I also had to go back and redo the hood with a more aggressive polish.

Thanks again for looking and thanks for all of your comments. :grinno:
