PadreDetail said:I did the math last night.
If I paid the two workers minimum wage,
I would've made 37 extra dollars.
140 for 5 hours would be closing on 30 an hour.
If I had a boss that paid me 14.50 an hour for hard work,
I would be excited for the future.
As I have said before, this is an overlooked sector that has
unlimited potential. You can use my business model and
charge whatever you want. Just remember that my angle
for profits is weekly service. I want it cheap enough so that
it is reasonably affordable every week or two.
I am on the cusp of great success, which does make me defensive.
I do not want to brag about the money that I make. However,
it is unbelievable without financial proof.
Imagine this. The profits previously portrayed in this thread,
was for 30 cars (29 really). Now factor in that there is a dealership
That wants all 250 cars on their lot done weekly. Can we
say cha ching? That one lot would fill my schedule. The other
four lots that I work for would make a steady month.
I say steady, but I really only mean busy until I get some
additional teams working. 5 teams cleaning more than 150
vehicles in 5 hours. I dig it.

103.5/5=$20.70 per hour

103.50*15%=$15.53 for taxes at the end of the year = 103.50-15.53 = $87.97

said $2 per car for supplies from other thread - 29cars x $2 = $58

so that 87.97 YOU made less the supply cost of $58 leaves you with just 29.97

Don't forget now that you are a legit company with employees you have to pay taxes and INS roughly $3 per hour (workmans comp, INS, etc) for the 8 total hours = $24 dollars

Total take home = $5

Congrats, you just worked for $1 per hour!

This is why your business model doesn't work! Take YOURSELF out of the equation and replace with another person and you actually LOST money for the day!

I don't think you are going to keep anyone around for part time work to make 30 bucks a day. The minute someone else offers them 50-60 per day they are out and you will have to find new people and spend the time to retrain! Its better to train for quality than hire for quantity. Maybe train ONE employee to be a manager and he trains the rest???
