I realized this morning that my instagram was hacked
could have been worse I guess, they left lots of pics of ladies in bikinis, I mean they could have left pics of hack jobs or something I guess

anyways, I`ve only been on IG a month now and after I fixed this hack I realized ALL my posts and photos were deleted... dangit, this is completely annoying

they also started following people from Russia, or some country over there so I had to go through and delete people

Never had an issue in the 10+ years I`ve been on FB, but now I`m debating the necessity of an IG acct due to silly things like this

Anyone else have any issues with IG hacking?
 
well that`s really annoying. I haven`t had any issues with mine (yet) , good thing I`m not too active on there.

I posted a pic of dinner I made for the misses last night and I noticed it has some crazy email address on there so I deleted it and didn`t think twice then this morning a fellow autopian hit me up and advised I had been hacked
 
yea and the besides losing all the pics I have posted in the past month, attempting to build up hashtags etc

they started following all these dudes profiles and so now I get these msgs that they accepted my follow request and I have to go in and unfollow them

technology sucks sometimes

I switched to the two stage verification where they text you a code every time you log in

deviance is as deviance does I guess

innovative deviance has always fascinated me...I mean, I have no idea how to hack anything so I`m guessing its a learned skill that requires some level of aptitude but these hackers chose to find illegitimate means to achieve their goals when they could devote that energy to something productive - but then again this is the world we live in - we did it to ourselves collectively IMHO

they changed my profile pic to a pic of some girl in a bikini and deleted all my photos and added lots of raunchy looking female pics.... I`m super pissed about losing all those photos and posts I had put up over the past month
 
so I guess whoever hacked this sent out HUNDREDS of requests to other people`s profiles to follow

about every 3-5 mins I get a new message saying they have accepted my request and I have to go in and unfollow them

this is simultaneously ridiculous, hilarious, frustrating and utterly disgusting

I feel like I need to wash my eyes out
 
Sorry to hear about this Brandt. I`ve had problems on social media with being followed by a LOT of spam accounts, but never have been hacked like that. Your best options are probably either to transition to a new account, or just go through and clear out all the crap on the current one

I have no idea
I changed my password but it was pretty solid.. they make us have crazy passwords at work and it was a similar configuration but not the same of course

I tried to report this issue but there wasn`t an easy way to send them the feedback so I just sent a general feedback msg to them- as if that will do anything.
