Initial Vroom Review - Tire Dressing, Glass Cleaner, Wash Mitt

I couldn't find the Vroom tire dressing at a dozen or so Targets in the SF bay area. :nervous: Could anyone send me some? I do like their washmitts and MFs though.

Just wanted to chime in on Vroom products...

There are two types of multi-pack MFs cloths that Vroom offers. I picked up several packages of the 12-packs with a 75% polyester & 25% polyamide content. They're all white with two borders, orange and grey.

The other MF that Vroom offers is a 70% polyester & 30% polyamide and are offered with an all grey color and all white. The downside to this is that you only get 6 pieces.

The only knock I would give these MFs is that they ALWAYS sew a content tag. If you're not careful, you may end up scratching the paint if you don't remove them beforehand. So you've got to spend a few minutes removing these bothersome tags. On a side note, I purchased an 8-pack of MF towels from Walmart and no content tags! 70/30 polyester/polyamide content... I think they're made by Microtex... They're actually not too shabby for the price... something like 8 pieces for $6.

What does the glass cleaner and tire shine cost? I was with my mom so I never looked at the price or receipt. LOL

There is not a tire dressing locally available that I would recommend (mostly the greasy looking aerosols). If the durability of Vroom's is any good, I will finally be able to recommend something other than $12-20 dressings from online vendors.

Mothers FX maybe? ;)

A few weeks previous I tried the Vroom Lime green MF glass cleaner towel and although I had no real specific complaints, I found the 14 X 14 size just a little too small to what I am used to using.

The other day, while in Target, I saw something new in the Vroom section. It was a light blue MF towel, 70% & 30% specifically, packaged two to a package for $ 3.99, advertised on the package as being 14 X 14, but were niticably lqarger thatn the other towels. I bought 1 pack, washed them, and I was pleasantly surprised when I measured them to be 16 X 16, and finished differently between the 2 sides. 1 side appears unfinished, & the other side is finished in the standard MF appearance/napp/texsture. I used them on both the windows andf as a buffing/polishing towel for an application of Zymol cleaner wax, both sides for both applications, windows & wax, and really liked the rags. Being supplied in a 16 X 16 size in a package asdvertised/marked 14 X 14 tells me that they are not a permanent item. Get them while they are available.

Not to get off track or hijack someone else's thread here, but:

How does everybody like the Vroom mf chaois look-a-like gold polishing cloth?

I also tried the new Meguiar's NXT "Speed SDetailer" and I did not care for it as much as the old Meguiar's "Quick Detailer", which I suspect that it will replace if all goes well consumer wise. Any comments on this?

Last but not least, thanks for the evaluation on the Vroom's products tested above.

i just bought a vroom 2pk of the grey microfiber detailing cloths for $3.99 and they are pretty decently plush. we'll see how they hold up....

Does anybody have any feedback on those chenille wash mitts (the orange one)? I'm looking around for a good wash mitt, and not sure which one to choose. Mainly I'm worried about whether these wash mitts will scratch the paint. I didn't have a chance to do a CD test last time I was at Target.

I give it a thumbs up, the type of microfiber used in those mits are the non-grabby MF, so its still tiny strands but they hold less dirt so when you put it in the bucket most the dirt can come off.

I love the vroom mf towels, I got 2 of the big yellow drying towels! One is more then enough to dry my truck. I also bought two packs of the orange and two packs of the gray and white mf. Can't say enough how great these are and I've tried several different brands. As far as the tags, they tear right off with no problem, I just tear them as I use them. I also bought two packs of the diaper white cotton towels, these are great on windows and with applying DW.

I just found this thread, but I bought some of the MF towels the orange ones and I remember looking at 2 different packages. One just said Microfiber and the other said Premium. I could tell a significant difference betweent the 2 just feeling them. I washed them and they held up good, but haven't been able to try them out yet. I'll probably just use them for interior/windows/door jambs/etc. I ordered some more Buffing towels.

They have 2 different types of mass MF towels. The microfiber (white and sometimes grey) should be used as 'disposeable' MF towels. Basically anything that will get them really dirty. the orange Premium MF towels should be used to wipe away wax/sealant and touch the paint.

I got an 8 pack of the orange premium Vroom MF cloths (16 x 16) at a local Target today for $7.99.

They appear to be and they feel as soft and plush as the Meguiars Supreme Shine MF and have a similar nap to the Meg's. The Meg's Supreme Shines cost at least $6.99 a piece.

I'm pretty psyched about finding these Vroom MFs and if this intial batch works out well, I'll definitely be picking up more of these.

You can't beat that kind of price for a decent quality MF buffing/polishing towel.
