Greetings!

So far so good I think with my combo for my Black Mustang. I've finished with the SSR and #80 and there are only some light scratches left. I'm guessing that after #80 there are still some marks left from using it normally?

Here is the rest of my combo, will the Vanilla Moose and RMG get rid of any marks left after #80 normally?

1-Poorboy's SSR 2.5

2-Meguiars Speed Glaze #80 to follow up the SSR 2 or 2.5

2-ClearKote Vanilla Moose

3-ClearKote Red Machine Glaze

4-Poorboy's EX w/ Carnuba (supposed to be excellent on black)

4-Pinnacle Souveran Carnuba a day later

Propel Yellow = 1

Propel Green = 2

Propel Blue = 3

Propel Gray = 4

Thanks!

Using both VM and RMG is kind of overkill if you ask me. I'd use one or the other. VM has slight abrasives so there's a chance it could help with very light marring when used with a polishing pad, but I doubt it. If anything, it'll probably offer some filling.

Procedure looks good otherwise. You're going to like Souveran.

With my black car, I've learned to accept a couple random defects here or there. If I can get the finish to 96%, I'd rather deal with a small mark or mar here and there instead of wearing away more clear to try and get rid of them. Chances are nobody's going to notice except you, anyway (the most difficult part about being an Autopian, teaching yourself some restraint :) )

I guess what I'm asking is if I should go over the car again with megs#80 or if it is normal to have some left over "maring" after its use.

you could step down to a ssr 1 with a light cut pad and that should probably do it for you. you could even just use the 2.5 with a lighter cut pad and see how it works. sometimes you need to go over the area 3 or 4 times to get the best results. also remember not to let the ssr dust up on you, apply till its clear or almost clear but not dusty.

You could go over it again with the #80 but I dunno if even a second pass will get *all* the marring out. #80 is kinda mild, plus it does a fair bit of filling/hiding. IMO it's worth doing the #80 again, then do the RMG, then your LSP and say "good enough, at least for now".

the ssr is strong enough in general to mar no matter how long you apply it, the key is to use a lighter cut pad and/or polish to remove the marring. you dont want it to powder up because then you are overworking the product. plus when it dusts up it makes removal a pain in the butt.
