Initial Quick Review of Wolfgang Sealant

Based on your comments, I'll order the GURU reports and see what they have to say.

Here's a cheap place to get it. 7 bucks.

As for the dust issue, I have had three vehicles in 04. A Bronco, An Expedition, and a Cummins diesel. I have used many combinations. Some of the products I've used have been s100, nattys, glare, Z2, Z5, klasse twins, final detail by dupont, megs quick wax, about 5 or so detail sprays, and now Wolfgang. I had never seen dust attraction like this on anything Ive used except this product. It could have been an anomilly I don't know. It is worth trying again against other sealants on same car. My brother in law is up for xmas and he ran his hand along my SUV and he was impressed on how smooth it was. He wants me to detail his car Sunday after feeling my SUV. Just curious, does Wolfgang have an anti-dust detail spray like z6? Maybe that would do the trick. I agree with scott that this product doesn't need a topper at all, perhaps maybe a good detail spray.

Anyone have any revies of the WolfGang Qick Detailer? I have been using UGE on mine so far and it has given me pretty good results. I just want to know how well the WG QD works.

LOL, where did you find this one buried?? Haven't used WG detailer, but since this thread I have used WG sealant, and oh my goodness is it awesome on black! If the QD is anything like the sealant, you can't go wrong.

Man, I a on au Autopia frenzy tonight!!! LOL. I just have so many questions and I have the itch to buy something new...:D Such a bad habbity and an expensive hobby.

I am debating on buying a new sealent, (FMJ, WG, or BF) and new QD (WG or Menzerna Acrylic Shield) and maybe some Souveran (on sale at http://www.pinnaclewax.com/pin312x.html)

But I have a silver car so I may pass on the souveran. I don't think i will be able to get the full effect of it...

what do you think?

If your car is silver, skip the Souveran and go for the sealant. Do you have UPP yet? WG is awesome but is intended for dark colors not silver. I know it's awesome on black, but don't know about the rest.

I tried the sample on my siler car and it did give a nice, wet look to it... I just wonder what it would be like if I put it over UPP... or over BF.... hmmm... ;) :up

a VM + UPP + WG.... hmmm... :bounce :D

BF + UPP + WG.... :bow :bounce

I had dusting issues with WG also, but as recommended by my fellow Autopians, I washed it and it was fine after that. I suspect the dust problem might be related to the curing in some way. WG is a great product and part of my arsenal.... I bought more of it if that tells you anything ;)

Something else I noticed about WG is that it's the ONLY product in my entire arsenal that does NOT want to come out of the pad. No matter how long I let the pad soak in hot soapy water and spray it with the hose or squeeze it, there is still some in there. If this is any sign of durability, I'm extremely optimistic about this one.

Any other options I should try?

I don't know about layering sealants like that. All of the sealants you mentioned will look best in my book with AIO as a base and then by choosing only one and layer the same one a couple times. As far as mixing sealants, I don't think anyone has ever tried that. It might be a waste of time and product, or it could be awesome, who knows?

Maybe I wil be a guinea pig and try it out...

I have already tried BF*2 + WG and it did look very nice. Very shiny and very wet looking. Even m,y wife commented on it which is H U G E since she pays no attention to things like that.

I think I am going to try VM + UPP + WG and see where that takes me...

same here, but the EXP does the same thing. I just let scrub mine with some dishwashing detergent and a mild brush it takes a while but it eventually comes out.

I have been getting quite a few compliments on my car since I added the WG sample on top of the BF... It has a nice, deep look to it while still being quite reflective. I am goint to try the Menzerna line (FP, FTG and FMJ) and see if I like it any better...

I just used my WG sealant yesterday...and noticed the static even when I was removing it. Will try a wash and see what happens. Anyone topped the WG w/ carnuba???

1. Washing cuts down on the static

2. #16, Natty's and Souveran are all terrific over Wolfgang.

I really like the WG sealant as well. I'm currently using AIO/WGx2 on my dark blue metallic GTO and the reflections are awesome, and it does have a very wet look to it. The slickness is among the best I've ever dealt with. I also have a problem with the dusting, but a quick QEW will cut down on a lot of that.

As for the WG QD, it doesn't seem outstanding to me, but it certainly does the job and will boost the shine. I personally can get away using a different QD and not have to worry about keeping the WG in stock.

I haven't had enough experience with it to comment on the durabilty as of yet, but I have my fingers crossed.

By the way, for those of you who don't have a bottle of the sealant to look at it, it clearly states that it will achieve outstanding results on dark colors and metallics. Such has been the case for me.

Have just put the second coat of WG ( on top of AIO ) on my car- very wet looking and incredibly slick. Didn't notice any dusting, but the car has been in the garage since I started ( 3 days )

Definitely looks promising.
