Initial Pinnacle Swirl Removers Thoughts

I gave the Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover and Swirl Remover a shot this weekend. My initial impressions aren't very good, but I will give them another shot and see if I have the same experience.



I used the Advanced Swirl Remover with a cutting pad and PC on 6. This is considerably stronger than SSR 2.5, but doesn't seem to break down as well. It left considerable amounts of hazing/micro-marring. But at the same time, it didn't remove the defects as I thought it should.



I used the Swirl Remover with a polishing pad and the PC on 6. There isn't really anything about this product that I liked. It seemed thick, but wasn't strong enough to remove all the hazing caused by the Advanced Swirl Remover. There are still about 5 areas on the car that I will have to redo because of the hazing. The finish that it produced wasn't as clear and wet as Menzerna FP.



As I said, I will give them another shot, but I don't know if I will ever use the Advanced with a cutting pad again. On a side note, I really like the Liquid Souveran. Great smell, easy on/easy off, and great depth and wetness.
 
I in my limited testing thus far have only liked the advanced on a polishing pad on a rotary. The pc just didn't have the oomph to break it down fast enough, and a cutting pad produced WAY WAY to much dust

Thanks for the mini review. Anymore info on the problem you were working on? Type of vehicle and paint? Weather conditions? What brand of pads and product and pad combos did you try? What does PASR and PSR compare to?

Glad to give my initial thoughts. I'll do a real review as soon as I get some time to work with it more.



I was working on an '03 Black Vette. It had some areas of water spot etching and slight swirling. The weather was about 90-95 with low humidity. I used Lake Country cutting and polishing pads. Like I said above, I think PASR is heavier than Poorboy's SSR 2.5, but doesn't break down as well. Probably not meant for the PC... PSR is similar strength to 3M SMR and doesn't leave as much gloss as Menzerna FP.
 
Thanks for posting your findings. I wanted to try them today but it was so sunny I decided to use SSR 2.5 & PWC instead.



I will definitely remember to try the Advanced with a polishing pad. I really appreciate the observations that these may be intended more for rotary use than PC.
