Infiniti Paint??

I heard that Infiniti paint is thin not like BMW or Porche.

So I tired SSR 2.5 and SSR 1, but does not work.

I am trying to hit it with M105 and M205. Is it okay to use them on Infiniti paint?

I am thinking about M105, M205, Black Fire Glaze, EX-P Sealent, PB Betty Wax

Anyone did details for Infiniti cars??

Please leave any recommendation. Thanks :2thumbs:

I don't mean to thread jack (this actually may help topic starter) but I've heard you can go as low as a blue ccs pad on PC w/D151 for final polishing. And that green ccs pad on PC w/D151 will do a pretty decent cutting job. I have a jet black infiniti '09 so I'm curious, is that all true?

I believe all the 09 Infinitis now have the "Scratch Shield Paint". This a new type of clear coat which is supposed to act as "gel" to melt over time and fill in small marring and light scratches. I thought at least one detailer had reported having the clear coat behaving strangely during polishing (gumming up into little balls on the pad?).

I would be careful polishing paint on a 09 Infiniti until someone figures out a process that works well with this new clear coat.

haha, oh wow, that sucks. I wonder if the clear actually works well with a proper washing technique, because most I've seen that have it are swirled and marred to all hell.

Also, if you polish it, what happens down the road - for example, does the gel-like bond of the self-repairing layer weaken and brake apart and now your paint, for example, starts to fade in certain places?

Marring and swirls on the new Infiniti paint is self-healing. Unless the scratches are deep, swirls and marring on the black Infiniti G37 are almost non-existent. You would still want to be be diligent with your wash process. The self-healing paint can cure scratches deliberately caused by a wire brush!!!

However, deeper and wider scratches will need to be buffed out using a gentle polish, which may be futile as deep scratches are hard to polish out in the first place.

drifts500's G35 does not have the scratch healing paint. The paint on his car is fairly hard, and is quite resistant to harsh washing methods! A friend of mine has one and he washes his car with a dirty sponge, yet the swirls are extremely light on his paint. ScratchX is almost ineffective on this paint when dealing with moderate scratches, however. I think M105 will work nicely on the white G35 when used with a DA. It should take out most light swirls out immediately.

Thanks...I wonder why my friend's g37 does not have scratches....

I used SSR 2.5 with Orange pad by PC but did not work.

I am going to try M105 with rotary...

Rotary should take out those swirls for sure, although M105 with an orange pad and PC-XP could do the job just fine. The $8 Ultimate Compound with an orange pad works on my M45 white paint with the metallic and three stage paint option.

Good luck!
