Inexpensive & durable pads

What are some inexpensive, yet durable finishing and polishing pads? Looking for ~6-7" pads, nothing smaller. Anyone have any experience with the SM Arnold's "Speedy Foam" pads? I have seen them @ Harbor Freight for mad cheap and was wondering if they were worth it. The PPI count seems to be just about right for both the yellow and grey, imo.
 
I have the yellow 6" buffing pads and the blue 6" finishing pads. Yes, they are very good pads, durable as well. Never seen them at HF, though. Get'em!!! Hope this helps.
 
Meguiars polishing and finishing pads hold up very well, plus they are machine washable. Not particularly cheap but if they last you a year (assuming weekend warrior level usage), they are very cost effective.

Anyhow, Scott, I know Meg's pads are durable, but not so inexpensive. They will be used frequently.



I think I'll pick up a couple of SMAs next time I stop in to HF. I'll buy some Meg's pads if the SMAs suck. Buff and Shines if all else fails.
 
What does harbour freight want per pad. I get them from Ardex for almost 7 a pad for the 6 inch speedy foam pads. I like the yellow for compounding. The green s nice to if they have them. The blue is a great polishing pad. I also found that the white is better then the black for me when applying selents. Good Luck. There pretty durable for the money.
 
I have a speedy cut *I think*, its the twisted yarn looking one,right? It came with a DeWalt I bought, never used it though. It looks like it would be great for oxidation.



Sounds great, Barry. HF has them for ~$6 retail. If you can get a coupon or if they are on sale, then cheaper obviously. All I have seen is the yellow and grey as far as foam goes. So, the yellow is pretty aggressive, eh? I'm looking for one that I can use on a rotary for AIOs. Probably grey is a better bet then.

They hold up well, my polishing pads are 4-5 months old with minimal degradation. The main problem with Meguiars pads is they don't have any smaller than 6.5".

their pad line up would be complete ;) ! they have the 4" coming out pretty soon here (going to pick those up without a doubt), and they have the 6.5" and 7" pads already...
