In search for a swirl filling wax.

IMO use something that removes a little swrils and hide them too. Try using either Meguiars #9 or Mothers Step 1. These products have some removal qualities and fills them in. Then you can use NXT to fill them in.

i found a bottle of wax from my old collection, and it says

Mother's seal & glaze. Phase two. it is a red bottle, and it says "removes swirls" on it.

i don't know how this product got in my collection since i dont' remember buying this, but do you guys know about this product?

can i use this before the nxt for swirl filling?

thank you.

Step two has very little cleaning and swril removal ability, but it does fill them in. This product is more in line with #81 as a comparison. It will work with NXT and it might be just what you are looking for.

thats great! so this mother's glaze, do i just use it like wax? put em on, let it dry, and wipe it out? how long do i have to wait before i put nxt over it?

thank you.

oh, and do i have to wash the car after mother's? before i put NXT over it?

Follow the directions on the bottle; I like to use foam pads and MF towels for removal. Dont' wash the car after you apply mothers as you'll clean off the fillers. Apply NXT right away.

dude.. read the first response to your post! I already recommended this..

Really, the mothers 3 step is your quickest way to very good results without spending a fortune, and getting confused with all the acronyms that we use around here.

Instead of the calfornia gold wax, use Mothers reflections, Synwax or NXT. you will be VERY happy.

you are right. i didn't know it was same thing you mentioned. it just said phase two on it.

thank you.

If you want a very good OTC glaze, try 3M's Imperial Hand Glaze. You can get it at the local PepBoys. I've also used Meguiar's #7 Glaze, but I like the 3M one better. It's easier to work with and it doesn't smell as bad. When worked with a PC, it gives a very deep and wet look. I've also used Menzerna's FTG. It seems to stay wet longer, so you really have to work it before it's done. My two cents. ;)

For a very heavy glaze try One Grand Glaze and top with Blitz wax. It will not last a very long time but it will make the paint look very wet and deep

thx guys.

my main concern is to hide swirls.

other members here suggested that i use glaze as filler and top it with NXT which also fills.

well, a few days ago, i went to carwash at midnight (it was hot...) and wash the car with dawn to stip the old wax, and put a coat of NXT. i didn't have time for glaze as i was getting sleepy after drying my car. i just wanted to try the NXT i just bought.

after just 1 coat of NXT, car is very shiny, but didn't do much to the swirl.

so my question is,

can i put mother's phase two seal&glaze on top of NXT? and put NXT on top of that again?

im planning to put a couple more coats of NXT and see if i can get better result.

btw. NXT is some great stuff. goes on very easy, and wipes off without effort. smells good too.

thx.

No question Victoria Concours wax. www.victoriawax.com. I've never come across a wax that fills as well or has better depth and gloss. I use to use this before I had a PC, I needed a wax that would fill the swirls as I could not remove them all by hand. If I put a wax on top of a sealant this is the wax I use.

if you are workig by hand, and is serious about taking care of those swilrs i would recommend:

wash, clay*, scratchX, NXT

*optional

If you want something very easy to use, go to a Harley Davidson dealer and get S100 carnauba wax and S100 Shine Enhancing Cleanser. My cousin had the same problem as you (maybe even worse) and didn't have the time to do a full detail. I allowed him to use my S100 combo and his car came out with most swirls and scratches invisible. The S100 products are well-received in this forum.

thanks guys.

so many different products i wanna try.

i guess ill see what happens with a couple more coats of nxt and see how it goes.

tho, can i use glaze on top of NXT and put NXT over again? or do i have to strip the NXT first in order to put glaze??

thx.
