In need of some guidance

all that danase has right no is a 3.5" or 5" so i guess I'll get the 3.5"

and as for clay bars go, I'll go the eBay route....megs QD will be fine as a lube right....
 
any QD is fine. ONR with water is fine as well...



As for the baking plate. 3.5" might be too small. Maybe you have to go with the 5 inch one... just me very careful around mirrors and when moving from vertical to horizontal around the pillars.

That's what I think too, my ~3.75 one that I use with 4" pads seems way too small for 5" pads. I never had a problem using the 5" plate with 5" pads, but then again I'm sorta careful about this stuff.
 
If you are new to the PC/UDM go with the smaller backing plate to be safe until you get more experience then migrate to the larger bp later. The UDM comes with a 5-in bp and if you plan to use 4-in pads for spot work then the 3.75 will be needed also. Assuming this, it is not really an extra expense. I found the 4-in pads work great on headlights.
 
ok i think ill go with chemical guys products so that i can order a bunch of GOOD mf's at the same time so what are the equivalents of the products mentioned in this thread?

whats the best car wash that they have that is the most gentle?
 
Citrus wash is what I use for my business. You can use the normal dilution (0.5oz/gal) for a safe wash or 2 oz/gal for stripping wax and prepping a car for a full detail. A 16 oz bottle will last you quite a while if you only use it at home.
 
for Glaze use EZ Creme Glaze. You can use Wet Mirror Finish as a LSP. Else, you could use 5050 or Pete 53 over the Glaze. I have not used their sealants (unless WMF is considered a sealant), polishes, compounds.



Call Paul at Chemical Guys and talk to him... He will give you advice.

BTW im returning the OHC for OC, the OC will be here today



So im thinking

1. wash

2. clay

3. oc on speed 5-6? with OC can it be used with the yellow pad?

4. op on 5-6? with white pad

5. poli-seal on 5-6 with white pad

6. 845 on 2-3 with blue pad

*i think im gonna get a 6 in or bigger blue pad so i can do the waxing part faster?
 
anthony914- I'd use speed 6 for all polishing/compounding. I use speed 4-4.5 with the 845IW.



Shake the 845 up for a long time. Then open it and shove the plug of wax in the neck of the bottle down into the rest of the wax and shake it some more. Believe it or not, the 845 will get about as thin as milk when it's shaken enough.



I dunno if a slightly larger blue pad would make any real difference...sorta doubt it.
 
Yes, poliseal will clean the paint and after being removed can be topped with the LSP of your choice.



Don't forget to take a whiff of the 845... it smells great!



PS: why did you return the HC?

I just got OC instead, because someone said OC will work better with the PC

oh and i did take a whiff..........WOW!
