I'm not getting results w/ PC and Various Polishes....what's wrong?

Don't forget the pedals!
Hi,

I've done two vehicles with a PC since I got my stuff and I feel like I'm doing something wrong and I'm extremely frustrated.

The first vehicle was a dark blue Audi, and the other was a Chevy Silverado. For the Audi, I used Menzerna IP and FPII w/ PC. I started by applying IP to the pad, a thin bead "X" going across the Sonus DAS Orange Pad. I then spread the product around (1/2 the trunk lid) with the PC off, then set it on the paint and work the product in at speed 3.5 for about 20 seconds. I then proceeded to turn the machine up to 5 and slowly go over the area, right to left, then left to right, for about 2 minutes. Then product removed easily and was just a slight haze, but when I looked, there were still many small scratches on the vehicle. 75% of the swirls were gone, but the 25% that remained were noticeable. Also, smaller, isolated scratches were still on the paint. The deeper ones were expectedly still there, but the ones that couldn't even be felt with the fingernail were still there, too. So I did the whole vehicle with similar results (gloss and shine was nice, though) and followed with FPII and Sonus Green Pad with the same technique, although sometimes experimenting w/ speed six with a little bit better, but still not outstanding results.

I know Menzerna is meant for the rotary, but many here have gotten good results with just a PC. This prompted me to purchase the SFX System. The Silverado was silver and dark red two tone. On the hood, after claying, there were many etched water spots. I thought I'd try SFX, so I got out a less aggressive SFX2 and SFX2 pad and went to work, the same technique as Menzerna. Almost all of the scratches remained/swirls too, and ALL of the water spots were still there. Frustrated, I tried SFX2 polish with the SFX1 Cutting Pad. No results. SFX1 with SFX1 Pad. No results.

I was frustrated and just went with Menzerna, getting at least some results, but this whole experience is very frustrating, seeing that everyone on here is working miracles and I'm doing nothing that I wanted to do (get rid of swirls, etc.)

Is there any advice or suggestions? I want this to go well for me but now the PC doesn't seem to great......

Menzerna makes a stronger polish that more than likely will take the other 25% off. Unfortunately, you will have to polish with fpII then clean and seal. If you have a lot of IP left you might want to use mezerna power gloss then IP then fpII. Powergloss is the orange pad product and IP is more of a white pad product. Dont be frustrated just use the power gloss. And btw menzerna is not at all a rotary product all though of course you can use one. The manufactor recommends only by hand or dual action in most cases. I will be looking forward to your sucess after you try power gloss. Your technique is fine. Tip is spritz with lots of water, this product has no petroleum like others, water will extend your polish when it's drying.

I am a newbie with PC but had an opportunity to see it done by someone with a lot of experience. My car had a lot of marring that I've tried everything from Scratch X to DACP by hand and nothing worked until PC and the Sonus SFX system were put to work. Cranking at speed 6, with moderate weigh lean on, going over 7 passes very slowly, and SFX 1 and 2 were able to remove most of the scratches but still some will remain. I think depends on the depth of the scratches, even the not so deep ones will remain so there is a limit to what PC and the pads/chemicals can do.
