Don't forget the pedals!
Hi,
I've done two vehicles with a PC since I got my stuff and I feel like I'm doing something wrong and I'm extremely frustrated.
The first vehicle was a dark blue Audi, and the other was a Chevy Silverado. For the Audi, I used Menzerna IP and FPII w/ PC. I started by applying IP to the pad, a thin bead "X" going across the Sonus DAS Orange Pad. I then spread the product around (1/2 the trunk lid) with the PC off, then set it on the paint and work the product in at speed 3.5 for about 20 seconds. I then proceeded to turn the machine up to 5 and slowly go over the area, right to left, then left to right, for about 2 minutes. Then product removed easily and was just a slight haze, but when I looked, there were still many small scratches on the vehicle. 75% of the swirls were gone, but the 25% that remained were noticeable. Also, smaller, isolated scratches were still on the paint. The deeper ones were expectedly still there, but the ones that couldn't even be felt with the fingernail were still there, too. So I did the whole vehicle with similar results (gloss and shine was nice, though) and followed with FPII and Sonus Green Pad with the same technique, although sometimes experimenting w/ speed six with a little bit better, but still not outstanding results.
I know Menzerna is meant for the rotary, but many here have gotten good results with just a PC. This prompted me to purchase the SFX System. The Silverado was silver and dark red two tone. On the hood, after claying, there were many etched water spots. I thought I'd try SFX, so I got out a less aggressive SFX2 and SFX2 pad and went to work, the same technique as Menzerna. Almost all of the scratches remained/swirls too, and ALL of the water spots were still there. Frustrated, I tried SFX2 polish with the SFX1 Cutting Pad. No results. SFX1 with SFX1 Pad. No results.
I was frustrated and just went with Menzerna, getting at least some results, but this whole experience is very frustrating, seeing that everyone on here is working miracles and I'm doing nothing that I wanted to do (get rid of swirls, etc.)
Is there any advice or suggestions? I want this to go well for me but now the PC doesn't seem to great......
