I'm looking for a decent watch...

I'll second that. Brand names only. I was once able to get three Hirsch bands for the price of one on Ebay.

Thanks for the link!:)

He has a really good selection and decent prices to boot!

Now, my dilemna revolves around witch color leather band would go best with a dark green chrono dial???

How about a dark green band? It's rare and will set the watch apart from the crowd. Other than that, lots of colors will do: the traditional black, brown, tan, and variations of them.

Do you have a particular type of leather ( lizard, croc, etc.) in mind?

I'd go with black or a light tan color. I think those look nice with green. With chronos, I like accent stitching on the band.

Here's what I like in those 2 colors:

I like this pattern for the black strap. Pretty sporty looking! http://www.lonestarwatches.com/HirschCF.htm

I have this tan strap on a lot of my watches. It's a bit thin. http://www.lonestarwatches.com/892.htm

If you can afford alligator, here are his custom straps. They're real beefy and thick. That's a great sale. http://www.lonestarwatches.com/GenesisII.htm

I don't really know much about watches, but I do like them.. I have two Skagens and couldn't be happier... Saving up for a Mavado though.

Thanks, Spilchy, that Liberty strap looks like just what I want.

Either Golden Brown or regular Brown would probably do. I don't really like black straps.

A dark green leather would sure be a cool find indeed!:D

And Zerrus, Movado makes some fine watches, especially like their "Museum" line with the single dot at the 12 position.

Exactly the one I want, all black... Maybe a graduation present...hmm.

There's a huge variety of those just with that black and dot dial with multiple case and band styles.

I love my Citizen SkyHawk. It is very accurate and I like the features that Citizen built in to it. This was my first Citizen and I will be buying more. I have two Seiko watches that I like alot. But after buying the Citizen I think I will be leaning toward more of them than more Seiko's to my collection. I really wanting to buy an Omega but I can't afford it. Maybe someday. Good luck, Wes

Well, I finally got my new watch! :woot:

I ordered the Citizen Calibre 5700 from Amazon for $149 shipped. MSRP is $400! Good deal!

Very nice and wear it well . Green always stands out from the crowd :up

I'm still waiting on mine from England, which I ordered 2 weeks ago. :( I'm also expecting a battery I ordered any day now so I can finally get one of the others that died on me on Monday back in service again.

Cool lookin' watch. I have many, many wathches...can't ever have too many!!

My local jeweler dropped the Citizens line for some reason. I picked up a $400 watch for $150 and wasn't even looking for another. The watch has been 1st class, it's a real nice piece.

Enjoy!

Looks sweet! To be honest, I'm not a fan of the hands though. They look like tie stays that go under your shirt collar.

But the green dial with the offset date and chronograph functions look really cool.

Congrats and enjoy wearing it!

If you do get a leather band, make sure it's good and thick to go with the chunky look of the watch. I'd spring for that tan crocodile custom strap I showed you earlier.

That's great advice. I think the watch will be even more of a knockout on a nice strap like that :up

I like the Hirsch Liberty strap in dark brown. Unfortunately, they are sold out of the 22mm, but lonestar will have more in stock soon!

Anyone know the best place to buy a Tag Heuer Kirium F1 ?

I checked out Overstock.com, but they only offer the standard Kirium watch (I like the look of the F1 better).

Have about $2000 to spend, but I think you can get them for just over $1000, if not under.

I'd try using Froogle first, see where that takes you. Overstock ( not sure if they sell TAG Heuer) is a popular first try as is Amazon. There's such an incredible number of watch dealers online, it's mind boggling. It can be a full fledged project tracking down a certain model but the reward of the savings is very nice.
