No, I mean Zainos bonding to DACP or Swirl Free. Steve mentioned that some people don't do the Dawn wash after prepping with non Zaino products and going straight to the Zaino process. I thought that was a big no no. :nixweiss
 
Well, zaino dosen't make P21S :nixweiss I didn't have good luck after using the SMR in regards to hazing. For some reason, probably b/c I have a black car, the SMR hazed over pretty good.



If it's that big of a concern, a quick dawn wash would only take a few minutes.

In my book, not washing prior to applying Z is a big no-no. I just threw that out there as a curve ball... :)



A quickie Z7 wash prior to applying Z adds about 30 minutes to my routine, so it's not a big deal for me. I spend the majority of my time prepping with the PC and various compounds.
 
Ok that leads me to a question. Are we concerned about residue left from abrasives being zaino'd over? Wouldn't a full QD do just the same as a wash? You guys have me parinoid. :)
 
OK guys, it's just the oils in polish that inhibits Zaino bonding correctly. Yes it will apply to the finish if there is still oil, but don't expect it to last as once the oils starts to go, so does your Zaino protection.



Dawn and Z7 wash OR water/alcohol mix spray on the finish, whichever is faster for you.



Polish your A off, wash or remove the oils, apply Zaino, DONE.

I like the shine, but it doesn't last as long as a polymer or sealant. I may end up doing the same as on my customers cars...Vanilla Moose, Final Polish and S100. I just washed a Tahoe that I used Final Polish on in late May and the paint was still beading like mad and was slick to the touch. Obviously not like it was just waxed, but noticably slick nonetheless.



I've just thought about trying the Klasse twins or Zainos on my Dad's car as a long term test.

Ya, I know exactly what you mean.



Spent 1 1/2 years at Nortel not knowing from one day to the next how much longer I'd have a job. Car detailing became a major form of stress relief, something I could do to forget all the bs at work and relax. And the worse things got at work, the better my car looked :).



Finally got the axe last xmas. Now I've found a new job, moved on but my detailing habit remains. I'm more relaxed and a better person for it.
 
That's just way too much work for me. I use Zaino on my sister's Camry and I break it up so I can still have a life. I clay, polish, Z1 and Z2. The next week I'll just put a coat of Z2. It makes the process much more enjoyable. But everyone's different.
