I'm getting pissed....how can I make white paint "POP".

Letting your eyes adjust and then looking at your paint with an intense light at a particular angle is far from ‘Dark Field Microscopy’.

Why obfuscate a simple process.

If you care to learn about Dark Field Microscopy...which by the way does require a bit of sophisticated equipment...do a search....there are a number of good articles on the net.

Here is a simple link. http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~bioslabs/m...opy/dfield.html

Since defects in paint do not run in the same direction, changeing the direction of your light source and your viewing angle will identify more defects as the light is refracted.

Mr Chemist- Thank you for your insights, your posts / replies are always very informative and never negative confuse us laymen(or should I say obfuscate)

[Zaino] Provides a very "sterile" shine. Not great for white. Black, red, blue colors like that you can get away with it. For white you need something different, I recommend in order of preference for white POP:

UPP....

And this is what makes it a horse race :D Note that breakneckvtec and I are on completely opposite sides of the fence when it comes to what colors Zaino looks best on  Gotta try different stuff on *your* vehicle and see what looks best to *you*.

I do agree that UPP (4-Star Ultimate Paint Protection, formerly "Platinum") looks great on everything.

Looking for ways to make white "pop" is kind of like searching for the Holy Grail. IMO. I hope somebody finds it, but it's not my crusade anymore. I'm happy with that really wet look that VM and 2xEX-P gives. Good luck, Crusaders.

Almost two weeks ago on my white 03 camry, my process was wash- clay - AIO - 2x wolfgang. (I did have good shine and reflections even before this process, I used megs paint cleaner step 1 , then polish step 2 and then a coat of WG)

With AIO, it made the car look even better, I washed the car recently and added another coat of WG, reflections are clearer and shine I feel are awesome for a white car.

The 2 coats of WG applied the same day also made a difference.

I just received 1z perlz shampoo that I will be testing out this weekend with another coat of WG.

I will be ordering UPP but I'm happy with WG, I've always wanted to give UPP a shot.

After Washing and Claying my White Supra, I had great success using DACP with a PC and Cutting Pad set to 3, EPP with Polishing Pad set to 4, VM with Polishing Pad set to 4 and topped it with S100 by hand. This was actually my first experimental detail.....

I really like how it came out.
