DLW -

I don't post much (All my q's are usually answered without posting).

but I too was thinking about your whereabouts and thought about "THE" transformation on the prelude, and the post about the lack of respect from the Younger Import enthusiasts (i fall under that gap but respect all the work you did to your sons car).

It'll be good to see your accomplishment again.

Welcome back!

here is the cliff notes version:

This guy is the man. He wet sanded his whole jeep to get rid of unsightly orange peel without going through the clearcoat or damaging it (maybe the next owner will have some issues :) ). Also he bought his son a 93 prelude with failing paint on the hood etc. Drove it hundreds of miles home, prepped and painted the car with Honda spray paint and made the car look better than many factory paint finishes! Hats off to Dan! :bow

Finally, with all the other things going on, the Prelude is once again all black (except the hood, undergoing surgery to remove the washer squirters and fill the holes). Now just a "quick" wetsand and we're done! Heres a shot sort of in the middle of things, started wet sanding the pass. side this morning. Note the wing, trunk and roof are rubbed out and almost done buffing, while the rear quarter is partially sanded and will be ready to rub out and buff tomorrow (I hope). Man, long project, next time I'm gonna stick to fenders, etc. Stripping and painting an entire car at home is grueling in the summer heat!

man thats an insane project.... but no window tint to set all of that black off? ;)

that thing looks great.... cant wait to see the finished product.

Window tint? Arrrrghh...........when I brought the thing home from New Mexico, I spent 7 hours in the back seat scraping off the old tint! It was Februrary, in the driveway and 6" of snow fell while I worked on it. No more tint for me, ever! (7 hours at 280lb in the back seat of a Prelude - I thought I'd never walk again!

are you just painting that in your garage? are you using a compressor and paint gun or just more rattlecans? i've done some rattlecanning myself, but i'm just curious how you're doing it since i don't see any plastic hanging from the ceiling.
