I'm about to pull the trigger on 12oz UPGP. Is it worth it?

I certainly don't find upgp to bead the tightest, sheet the quickest, or last the longest, but I wouldn't say that any of those 3 WOWA have those attributes either.



I have all three and don't think that one is clearly better than another. I use ZCS the most. OOS is quite dusty.
 
The durability of UPGP didn't seem good at all until the last couple of coats I put on. It was certainly nothing like it was claimed to be. However,I did a coat a few weeks ago and it has rained like crazy since. The beading didn't fall off at all finally. Hopefully it's finally going to perform like it's supposed to.



The looks and slickness seem to fall off too quickly,but boy does it ever look awesome at first. I also topped with Z8 after a wash for the first time. It looks unreal!



The 4 oz bottle should last forever,and I don't know how long the bigger size would last. The sampler kit is a bargain!

I'm not sure why different folks have different experiences with CS. I've been using a Sonus foam applicator and apply a mist per panel and have tight beading for months.

Anyways, is this stuff *really* as good as it sounds? Everyone raves that it's so good, looks like a carnauba, actually does last a few months in contrast to other sealants which claim such things but do not deliver.



Also, is ordering 12oz too much? I'm not really detailing customer cars on the side anymore but I figure I will probably reapply every couple months. And I'm sure I'll be sloppy at first and use too much.



Also I know I should be doing a search, but is this just like every other liquid/trigger sealant that I've used where you just spray a light mist on the applicator and wipe on? I know I skip the wipe off step but is it REALLY that easy?

Yeah, it really is as good as it sounds. I'm *very* critical of sealants, cause I like carnaubas better. So it's hard for me to admit that I like this stuff as much as I do.



As far as ease of application, some find it very easy, other ham-fisted hacks like me find it very hard. However, even if you get it wrong and over-apply it, it's very easy to recover: just allow it to fully cure (usually around 8 hours), and go over it with a good QD. It'll remove the excess and look awesome.



IME, three coats is the magic number with UPGP. After the final coat, let it cure for at least eight hours, and do a good QD job. Again, it'll remove the excess, level it out, and *really* bring out the shine.



UPGP also has very good environmental protection for a sealant.



It might be expensive, but 12 oz will last you *forever*, and the cost per application is reasonable.
