She'll Buff Out
So i went to my local Napa this morning to pick up some Meg GC car wash. As i was walking to the counter i noticed to shiny cans in the very back of the shelf behind the black magic engine detailer. Could it be??? It was, the last 2 cans of CD2 engine detailer. I totally swooped, went straight home and tried it out.
It was completely effortless. I sprayed it on, no degreasing or scrubbing. Washed the car then went back and wiped a couple drips and done. 2 mins tops.
This stuff is incredible. All i can say is thank you to Jngrbrdman for always raving about this stuff. I am now a believer. I have a case on order, should be here next week.:rockon

Where did you get this? I want to go buy and see if they can get more....either that or I am on my way over to your house to get the other can

so you didn't have to wipe away the dirt and grime? how exactly did you do it?

I did absolutely no pre-cleaning. I popped the hood. Sprayed it on. Washed the car reopened the hood and wiped a couple drip marks. Thats it.

I bought it at Napa Auto Parts here in Cloverdale. I had him order me a case while i was there. Im off tomorrow but i work saturday. If you want to swing by the dealership, ill give you the other can. You gotta try this stuff out. Let me know and ill bring it withme

How old's the Volvo? The engine looks new now :rockon:rockon:rockon
The car is almost 4 years old. Thats the first time the engine has been cleaned sense my mom has owned it.
I love this stuff:yay:yay:yay

Mopar if you can take a pic the Napa invoice and post it or pm me that would be a big help. That way I can have my Napa get it (need line code & part #). I have been trying get him to stock it, but he can't find it in his catalogs.

Wouldn't you have to get rid of the dirt first? I would think degrease it first, wipe off the dirty sections that you can get to, and then add the spray.

I mean don't get me wrong it looks great but aren't you just spraying over the dirt?

You should wipe down all dust and grime so the product bonds better to the rubber and such instead of all that dirt and dust. It will hold up much better cuz the dirt will suck up all the moisture and look like crap in awhileotherwise it lasts for a long long time when done right. It looks great though you were lucky to find some locally.

I just did exactly what the directions said to do. Like you guys i thought i would have to clean everything first then dress it. Its a all in one type of deal. Cleans and dresses at once. When your spraying it on you can see the dirt rolling off(thats why i went wiped off some drips afterwards. There is some good pressure out of the can. For a engine bay that is filthy i would clean first but something like this, where its just dusty. Not a problem. Thats what i got from it anyways.

One website says:

Note: This is a detailer, to be used after engine has been cleaned / degreased.

This is for the CD2 Engine Detailer. So you are saying that you just spray this stuff on a dirty somewhat dusty engine and the results are what you have posted?

I've got some on order too! The real test will be our old faithful 1989 Blazer with almost 300,000 on her!!! My husband put new seals on the engine this week after taking the top of it off and cleaned out the sludge from that many miles. It was NASTY! but was driving it today and purring like a kitten! I'll do a before/after with this stuff when I get it and post for all to see! Then will used it on our 04 bmw! Oh.. Used the Detailing machine on the blazer today and it looks so good! (even with the quarter panel rust!! :) The old blazer has been a good one!!

Most if not all dressing can do the same thing, maybe not as shinny. It just "mask" the dirt. (a quick fix if you asked me) Some what similar to some of the tire dressing "spray on and walk away". After a few weeks or when the product wears off, the tires still look like no one scrub them. I can just see dirt and oil comeback in a few weeks or so.

I just can't do that to a customers vehicle or mine with out degrease first. Knowing under all the dressing is dirt.

Auto Zone carries it now @ $4.95 a can. It's not with the car wash/wax products as it should be so you may have to ask for it.

Will it attract dust at all? I've never been a fan of a greasy looking engine since it collects a lot of dust.

That's the thing, it's not greasy. It dries dry to the touch but shiny.

And it does say right on the can, to use after you clean your engine with your favorite degreaser.
