Illegal stuff in a customers car?

Have you ever found any drugs or anything else illegal in a customers car? What do you do with it?

I worked as a car audio installer for a while and I found a couple drug stashes. I found lots of marijuana roaches in the ash trays.

really depends, Ive found weapons and a bag of weed. Normally I leave it alone and dont act like I saw it. Better to leave well enough alone, cause say you turn them in and they get out, they know who turned them in, rather not deal with that. As far as weapons go, normally I will ask them next time would they remove the firearm before I get there and they have no problems. For drugs I just leave well enough alone.

i usually ask if they have "removed any and all body parts" from the car; kinda joking around but a few times it seemed to have triggered a memory where they "just had to get something out" that they have forgotten.

Usually I'll just leave it where i've found it.

I had a Doctors car come in for an audio install, I started removing the boot panels and found a stash of prescription bottles behind them. I continued to simply work around them. Making sure my finger prints were not on anything that could be seen as illegal.

I find guns all the time, many of my customers have conceal and carry. I just bring their gun to them if they forget and leave it in the car. I did find a prescription bottle filled with pot once, and it was in a customer's car who is in his late 60s! He thanked me for finding it.

LoL, never thought I'd actually hear something like that.

Found some roaches a few times, $640 once and a vib......r under a 60 year mans seat, the gloves came out for that one.

I found a pretty sizable amount of money all wadded up under a seat once. I didn't touch it but mentioned it to the owner - he thanked me for reminding him it was there... heh.

I was cleaning this older womans' Vue once and under the drivers seat she had a revolver in a holster. Freaked me out at first! Then i thought crap, my fingerprints are on it now...hope she doesnt use it :)

To date I have found:

1) a couple grams of cocaine in a glass vial

2) All manner of drug paraphenelia (no needles yet thank god)

3) Guns

4) "Barely Legal" porno mags............... YUCK

5) Used condoms (not illegal but friggin nasty anyway)

6) A couple bags of reefer

No bodies in the trunks of caddies or lincolns yet. It kind of amazes me though that the people who have the most to lose are the ones where I usually find the most illegal objects.

I find roaches in younger people's cars mostly. In one of my customer's wife's cars, I found a Doc Johnson sex toy catalog and a vibrating egg. Yeah, rubber gloved that one too.

Found this in a Bentley....

You detailed Willie Nelson's car? :2thumbs:

Finding weed in cars in Mendocino Calif is nothing maybe TX where you can be sent to jail for a roach. In Mendocino you can grow 25 plants legally.

Things that I have found, usually under the seat, some in glove box or center box

Gun/s

knifes

½ pound of bud (weed) joints, roaches is common, Bud shake is common after fall harvest growers throw it away its on the cars carpet

Cocaine in small bag more then once

Used tampon from a homeless girl that I helped out once

Panties mostly from girls that I know

GPS device (keeping track of where the car goes or where it’s been)

100 dollar bill and other small bills

One dead roof rat lots of live mice in cars and one dead cat

Coffin that was in a Hurst got me a thinking was there someone in side, the guy from the morgue I went to school with so..

AND the number one thing was a sawed off shotgun found in a van

I guess a lot of people know me good and they are not worried about me turning them in. I have a lot of good friends so they keep there pot and valuables in the car.

 Those crazy pot-heads.

Stop and think how old this guy would have been in the '60s. It's not all that surprising. Not to mention I know of a number of sedate, older folks who acquire a stash for medical purposes, whether it's legal or not.

Not a story from detailing, but years ago I was working as a parking valet for a wedding reception at a country club. One guy handed over the keys to his new Volvo and told the one of the other valets "Be sure not to scratch it". The valet went to park the car and when he stopped, a gun slid from under the seat. Then he went to pull the stick in reverse and the knob pulled off. He really started sweating it when he noticed 2 wires for a button on the knob dangling out of the stick. He spent most of the reception deperately trying to get it put back together, afraid of what the big guy with the gun would do if he found out.
