then what is second best? I have seen several cars done with zaino, and they look incredible, however living in the uk it is impossible to purchase over here, so looking for an alternative. Look forward to your replies. Thanks.
 
There are many good sealants out there on the market today...



my personal favorites that you might look into are 4* UPP and Poorboys EX-P



But there's also wolfgang, blackfire, Klasse SG, well...the list could go on and on...all are great products. If you can readily get any of those products (Klass SG might be the easiest) then they might be worth giving a try. Klasse can be as finiky as the origional Zaino though to work with...just one more thing to consider.
 
Isn't Autoglym readily available in the UK? While I haven't used anything from the AG lineup myself, I've seen several posts describing the Autoglym cleaner and sealant as being fairly similar to Klasse AIO/SG in look and durability, but easier to use. Again, I've not used them, so this is hearsay on my part; however, if Autoglym is easy to get in your location, it might be worth a try.

Autoglym is said to be close to Klasse but I have never tried Klasse.



My choosen sealants are EX or Ex-p depending on colour, and still using Autoglym for two stage jobs on customers cars.



We can get most products over here without importing.

you can buy Zaino products here in the UK. They are MUCH more expensive than in the states, and the new Zaino Z2-Pro isnt in stock yet.



The AG twins are a good bet. You can pick them up locally in any halfords or car care shop, and wont have to wait for your order to arrive for you to get started.

If it were me, I'd have to consider AutoGlym since it's a local product for you. And since it doesn't travel an ocean, there's less chance of getting bad product.



But in answer to your title question, if Zaino is the best to you, only you know what's second best. :)
 
It seems like (or this is how I read it) that he hasn't had a chance to use Zaino, so he can't speak for it yet. So by saying Zaino is best, he's going by what he sees and hears. If he thinks that what he's seen and heard of Zaino are best, then I hope he's able to find a way to get it :)



I have to agree with stevet as far as his first post. He never attacked the guy, but asked a question. Actually, the exact question I was going to post when I read this title.



I hate getting involved in these politics and things, but this is one that I think is ok to get in. Please keep everything civil.

I dont think there is any one best product and one of the things which is frequently quoted here is the results come from the prep work. The Last Step Products are really just the icing on the cake.



Using products X or Y on a poorly prep'ed car is always going to give unsatisfactory results.

Some people say that Zaino is best, some say Klasse is best, in either case Zaino and Klasse are the two best. With that said , all the others Upp, Poorboy, NXT, Wolfgang, etc are so close that most people can not tell the difference. Its just what works best for you.
 
Zaino products are very good products. There are a whole bunch of very good products. If possible, one should try a few of the many good products, and come to your own conclusions.

Obviously from what Axe has experienced he has seen BEST results in his opinion with zaino (reading from the first post), and is asking for your suggestions. Instead of bickering, let's stay on track and help out a fellow newbie and offer him suggestions and alternatives.

This is the kind of thing that we are striving to get away from on Autopia. If we are going to change the climate here, it's got to start with one person (hint: go to a mirror and take a look).



Axe has a legitimate question that cannot be answered fully if we are too busy bickering or personally attacking one another.

Like others have said, some like Zaino, others like other products. It's like the old Ford vs. Chevy; Coke vs. Pepsi debate. I've seen some people's cars that look pretty decent with Zaino, and some people's cars that look like crap with Zaino. As it's so often stressed on this board (and I think it's in GSR's bio), it's not so much about product as it is process. Find what will give you the results you like and is a process you enjoy and go with it.



Bottom line, good luck finding Zaino (or whatever you decide to go with) and post some before and after pictures. I'm sure you'll get a LOT of compliments. This is usually a very supportive environment. Oh yeah, Welcome!
 
whoa ... yes the question was meant with sincereity, I have seen incredible results from this and other web sites of people using the Zaino product. Didn't quite expect to stir up a hornets nest, sorry about that, will be a little more careful how I raise a question here in future.



Thanks for your positive replies though, I didn't get chance to read any of the stuff deleted by the mods, thankfully.



I have used AutoGlym, and the resin polish does do a good job, it doesn't look as 'wet' as the Zaino product though.

To increase the wetness of the Autoglym maybe consider topping it witha Carnuba wax. We can get a good variety over here. I still love AG SRP and EG topped with with p21s from Alex or S100 brought locally from Harley Davidson.

I think the SRP does a decent job, but it does need a couple of layers of the Extra Gloss Protection to make it look wet. I have a silver 3-series (not the easiest colour to make look wet) but it can be achieved by the use of SRP & EGP. Also, as said above, a carnauba topper will add to the wetness - perhaps P21S (from serious performance) will be the look you are after.



Whereabouts are you on the NW coast?
 
Being an old fashioned kind of guy, I still like Blitz on top of the Extra Gloss but this winter I have gone for the Autoglym 'natural' look with no topper.
