If you wanted the BEST shine sans durability

Color...metallic/pearl content...paint condition..."it depends" really is the right answer. Also, not to get picky, but you mention "durability is not a factor" in one sentence, and "sealant" in the next. But, assuming the finish is truly ready for LSP's, and strictly commenting on what's on my shelf, I'll bite. :D

Light colors with lots of metallic (GM pewter, Acura pearl white): Four Star UPP.

Dark colors with lots of metallic (GM carbon metallic, Ford mineral grey, BMW dark blue metallic): Menzerna FMJ + Pinnacle Souveran.

Light or dark (GM black, Toyota white): Clearkote RMG + Pinnacle Souveran.

Best shine comes from the pre polishing and polishing stages, not some sealant or wax (except for some waxes on solid blacks)

Lately, I've been finishing with 3M Ultrafina and topping with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. Looks killer and holds up. :)

For me CG wet mirror finish makes metallic and pearls pop like nothing else.

I have also tried DWG & EZCG under WMF and its great too.

But for the best of both worlds pop and durability Zaino Z5 pro or Z2 pro together or seperate.

Metallic pop is very important to me , my MazadaS6 has a great red metallic paint job and I have found a lot of products to mute the metallic. For me it seems AW, Werkstatt , New OCW , Their new QD & most carnubas mute or give a different look than CG WMF & Z. It seems for me that in the direct sun CG WMF or Z are increible on My Paint.

I don't want to get into a argument over my statements I am simply stating what I find.

I also don't put much stock in pro photographers who can bleach and alter their shots.

I can't seem to get a picture that does my car justice ( I also suck a taking pictures ).

For me I also love for QD's on Metallic Z6 and CG quick syn det both enhance the pop.

For me an AIO like ZAIO or KAIO followed by RMG. It looks great wet and deep. I don't know about durability as it gets topped with a wax.

shine = reflectivity I think Z2pro is about as reflective as it gets. If wetness is what you're after then a glaze is the answer.

I agree.

Dark colors, Z5p

Light colors, Z2p.

I am torn as to weather or not 3M IHG can give you any more than Zaino can, maybe if the paint is not perfect the glaze would be better but on properly prepped paint is is Zaino all the way.

I use Griot's Best of Show because I read their catalog and they said it was the best.

:lol

No, seriously... I do like it, but my experience is limited, so stick with the experienced ones here.

Hard to beat Meguiars #7 followed by #26. I don't use it much because it doesn't keep the look that long, but it is nice. I also like Zymol's HD followed by any of their waxes.

I'm sure that's a nice combo but it will darken paint and I don't think that's what the OP is looking for.

I pretty much agree with this.

I polished my wifes SUV today with SIP and finished with 106FF on a white pad. It doesn't get any wetter than that. The LSP mostly protects the look that you achieved with polishing, but LSP's can have a look of their own. They just won't have nearly as much impact on the look of the paint as the pre polishing and polishing stages.

Exactly why I will never buy a wax/sealant based on claims of how it looks ever again. My requirements for waxes now is how well it protects, cost, and ease off use. Obviously if a wax is much easier to use but shorter durability, I won't mind using it more often than a wax that lasts longer, but is not as easy to use so long as they both protect just as well.

Yep. I also take into consideration things like how the LSP does with dust attraction vs resisting dust etc.
