If you only had $35

I read a lot about many 'high-end' products and how great they are. I recently have spent about $80 just for AIO, SG, Blitz Wax/Wash, and Blitz Wax (now I just need a nice weekend to lose my virginity). If I go with some 303, tire dressing, rim cleaner, carpet cleaning products, and some air freshners I am well over $100.

My challenge is:

You must put together a kit to detail your car, but............

You only have $35

You must only choose products sold at major department/auto stores.

At the least you must include:

Shampoo the car

Polish the car

Wax the car

Dress the tires

Clean the rims

Clean and Protect the interior Vinyl

Clean and Protect the interior Leather/Cloth

What products would you choose?

Shampoo--go to target get a gallon of meguiars gold class wash for 10 bucks
polish the car--- you have AIO, that is a polish
wax the car--- you have wax that is SG and blitz
dress the tires---TW tire gel 5 bucks
clean the rims --- eagle one A to Z
clean and protect vinyl--- get 303, u can save a few bucks and use the 303 on tires too instead of buy 2 separate things
leather--- I wouldn't recommend anything you can buy in a store

Well, I definitely wouldn't be happy with the results, but it would look better than most of the car's running around on the roads today:

Wash: Eagle One Car Wash $4.95

Polish: P21S GEPCL $10.95

Wax: Armor All Car Wax $2.99

Tire Cleaner: Eagle One A2Z (new): $4.95

Tire Dressing: Vinylex $4.95

Interior Dressing: Vinylex (no cost)

Interior Cleaner: Eagle One 20/20 (dilluted with water) $3.95

Total: $32.74, no tax or shipping.

Like I said, I wouldn't probably be real happy with the results, but it's a shot. I might substitute the Polish & Wax with Gold Class for $8.95 and save an extra $4...

Well, I am <strong class='bbc'>sure[/b] that this topic has been discussed a lot before. Try using the search function to find out similar threads about low-budget detailers.

Wash: Meguiars Gold Class $6

Polish/Wax: NuFinish $5 (liquid) if older car. Meguiars Gold Class $9 (liquid) if newer car.

Tires/Vinyl: Eagle One Protectant $6

Leather: Eagle One Cleaner/Conditioner $6

Tires/Rims: Eagle One Wheel Cleaner $6

Total: $29 or $33

I'd have to agree with Guess, if I only had $35 I'd wallow in my poorness with the comfort of some suds.

Or

Wash: Can't one of the Klasse twins be used as a wash?

Polish: Klasse AIO

Wax: SG

Rims: AIO & SG

All of these are covered by the Klasse twins.

Tires: Clean and dress with Meg. #40

Interior: Clean and dress with Meg #40

Leather: Clean and dress with 303. Didn't we use to have some long debates about 303 on leather? My leather is still looking good after three years of 303.

So buy the Klasse twins, some #40 and some 303. Can get the 303 and #40 at the auto parts store, the Klasse at the import auto dealer.

I've gotten the pair for around $40 in the 16.9 ounce sizes. But since I'd already be over budget I'd stick to the beer:D

Polish the car

Wax the car

well for these I would use a higher quality over the counter stuff, like 3M

Meguiars Professional line or perhaps Mothers would do.

You'd probably spend like $30 dollars assuming a $10 each polish and wax and $3-4 on the other stuff each.

One thing though, you bought a car with leather so buy detailing products that take care of your purchased :xyxthumbs
