If you had to buy one Boutique wax, what would it be?

For me, durability is important because if it doesnt bead after 2 weeks, the customer will question my job or how durable is my job, I know, it happened many times with me and other local detailers LOL.

For me, I would like to buy Concorso but since someone else has it, I was thinking maybe mystery , just to be a lil different, you know.

I had high hope for zymol but it seems pretty average from the 4-5 hours reviews I read over the net.

Your turns!

Not sure what constitutes a boutique wax, but what are you currently waxes you use now? I would think boutique waxes are better for show car type application. And the tried and true collinite, fk1000, etc. A well better for durability. I've noticed price doesn't dictate much when it. Comes to lsps

I would have to say that Zymol Vintage Glaze™ is the most optically clear Carnauba wax I’ve used, applied with bare hands; it’s got to be seen to be believed

CG50/50 or Fuzion if you have to have boutique. Collinite 915 if you really want looks and durability. And LOL at Souveran, I get two weeks out of that!

I'm low on Souveran, probably won't get again. I have Fuzion on the Accrod so I guess my vote would go to it.

Ioncoat Naviwax Dark or Ultimate...best way to describe is to ask "What if Collinite 476 really WAS a beauty wax?" Durability and beading of 476, much better looking and much easier on/off.

I'd wonder why you want/need a "boutique wax" in the first place, then buy whatever product fills that niche (if there really *is* a niche that needs filling ;) ). IF you can't answer the question that way, then I'd wonder if it's....uhm, a solution in search of a problem

As for what your customers want- When I did the Jag that was the subject of my "is it Collinite or DodoJuice?!?" story, I simply explained that I used (what I considered) the right wax for the job and that if he wanted something different I'd need to know what that "something" was so I could figure out what to change. No...not really any problem that needed fixing, he'd just wondered about those fancy expensive waxes that some people talk about...

Eh, if I thought I were really missing out on something I'd buy [whatever]. Do I use Souveran? Yeah, for one very specific reason on one application. Would I like Vintage? Sure, if somebody else were wrestling with it to the extent of spit-shining/etc. a few layers onto a garage queen but no way am *I* gonna hassle around with it (if it were as easy/durable as the stuff I currently use, well that'd be different). I've almost pulled the trigger on Vintage a few times, but I just know it'd merely sit on the shelf 99% of the time while I used something else.

Can you define "boutique"? I have a pretty broad definition (some may disagree) in that "boutique" is really any product that is not readily available OTC regardless of cost. Of course there are gray areas such as Collinite and Duragloss that can be purchased locally depending on region. Heck, I consider S100 to be a boutique product even though you can get it at any Harley-Davidson dealership.

If I am understanding your post correctly, I believe that your customer is looking for a higher-end boutique product that has some durability. For an entry-level, "higher-end" wax (if that niche actually exists), I would consider P21S 100% (gray top) or CG 50/50. Both look great and last at least 2 months in the dry Texas heat.

My apologies as I can't really provide much recommendation on anything more expensive - I have only tried Zymol Concours which I really, really liked but it does not last long and it's a magnet for dust.

My current favorite is Victoria Concours Red. I love the look on my black car. I find it very easy to apply and remove, and the durability is as good as any other carnauba wax I have tried. My Fuzion isn't getting used much, because of my love for Victoria Red.

I happen to have a tub of P21S 100% for sale, if you're interested.
