If you are confused about the CG QD's...

So is it safe to assume the SmartDetail is the same thing as the CG detailer with carnauba?

Haven't tried the Smart stuff (because I'm smarter than that), but I would say that your assumption is probably correct.

What exactly does S&W leave behind? From what I heard, since it cleans so well, the surface should be free of everytthing.

It doesn't clean the surface of wax, just dust and dirt. It presumably leaves behind some sort of polymer, because if you take a completely fresh surface and S&W it, you will notice a little increase in slickness and gloss.

Hmmm. S&W is a pure waterless wash, I don't think of it as a Polymer QD at all. Slickness is of course improved since it cleans so well, but gloss I guess is subjective.

Either way I love QD that clean ridiculously well & produce a sweet surface!

As the all-knowing RCBuddha said,
I know S&W leaves something behind, try it on a panel that has been treated with an IPA wipedown.
Have a perfectly polished or cleaned panel, and try S&W on it...you will notice an increase in slickness and gloss.

As for cleaning+gloss, I agree with you...that's why I love Speed Wipe and Pro Detailer! :2thumbs:
