If Jesus was a compound... Garry Dean - Tampa, FL - Premium Custom Detailing

Nice video Garry. I like the way you put the side by side test together. I can't wait to see how my corvette turns out too

Nice comparison Gary. Question is how are you going to cope once the 101 is gone. It's going to be very frustrating the first car you need it on and don't have it.

Great video Gary.

I think, to me, what is amazing is that 3 years ago the though of removing sanding marks with a DA would spark a 12 page debate. Could it be done, should it be done, etc.

M105 (for me) changed the game completely, as did 4 hour conversations with Kevin Brown. To think how quickly we have gone from 4-5 step corrections (with a rotary) to this is unbelievable. As impressive as M101 we should overlook Meguiar's other offerings, but rather appreciate the rapid increase in performance.

Your video was awesome, great test! Thank you for sharing with AF!

Great video Garry! What camera are you using? I like the quality.

Its a Canon HS100 .

Thanks guys for the feedback on the video. I really hope Meguiars decides to release M101 to us here in the US.

Todd, I definately do not think we should overlook any of Meguiars other offerings. They all have their place. What Im really trying to get at is when it comes to comparing M101 to the current version of M105, M101 is the clear winner IMO. M105 is absolutley my "go to" compound for serious correction. D300 is fantastic as well.

When it came time to take those sanding marks out of that Corvette M101 made me feel like I was polishing a Honda. Do I think M101 would be overkill when actually polishing a Honda? Absolutely!

Nope, the label specifically states "Globally VOC Compliant Formula" -- and the stuff is made right here in the USA at the Meguiar's facility in Tennessee. :inspector:

Thank you for looking that up Charlie, I'm at a loss then...

just curious since someone posted the label for this product and it is made here in the states has anyone tried contacting Meguair's directly to get some?

Yep. You only need to look at the statement from Mike Stoops from Meguiars at MOL (which has been re-posted on most other forums.) to see they have no intention AT THIS TIME to market it in the USA. Mike Stoops is a pretty nice guy but he must follow corp policy dictated by Meguiars reguardless of public demand . Only with enough public demand IMO will the top decision makers at Meguiars change their current policy. But heck what does this old retired truck driver/detailing hack know about big corporations. Only time will tell. :D

As with most products the demand will dictate the price. With no supply here by the time the decision is made the price may be the same as finding a distributor in europe and shipping.

If I put my corporate hat on, I would say Meguiars would not know where to really place it in their portfolio. They obviously have the M105/M205 they sell plus now they have the mf family. They have invested a lot of time and marketing on those products.

They would be adding yet another SKU that their distributors would need to pick up and it does overlap between they are selling now. They probably want to know they would sell x number but that would not happen without marketing it. That is, posting here on AG and AF is not a marketing campaign. Look how slow they were with Meg's QID.

They do like to keep things simple from a marketing perspective (complete opposite of Chemical Guys). They are not into niche products.

I understand what you are saying AL. With the cost of R&D of 105,205,D300 on the table plus what inventory must be in distributors hands , another product may be counter productive to their plans. On the flip side they are just begging for another producer to reverse engineer the product and bring it to our shores. Maybe damn if they do and damn if they don't. The world we live in is a dog eat dog deal and survival to the fittest. I would hate to see it end up like some of the bootleg permanent coatings that are coming out of the woodwork . Just another thought whistling through my open space between my ears. LOL.
