Idiot Award of the Day

I've just driven my family over to the in-laws in my Toyota Land Cruiser. On the way there whilst driving down a small country road I failed to notice an overhanging branch which hit the top of the car. After we arrived I took at look at any damage and notice a nice 3 inch scratch in the side of one of my roof bars. It's really just roughed the clearcoat up so no big deal.

.......and then we came back the same way.......

And I managed to hit the exact same branch!!!

What an idiot!

Now I've got a similiar scratch in the paintwork in the middle of the roof. This one is about 12 inches long.

You'd think that I'd have learnt wouldn't you? :wall

Assuming you see your in-laws on a fairly regular basis (this obviously was not a once-a-year-only-on-Christmas visit) I should think some light pruning is in order. Go back with a small saw, stopping just before you reach the offending tree (but you knew this already, didn't you?) and remove the branch.

That is my ounce of prevention....I'll let someone else offer up a pound of cure.

Sorry about the finish on the Land Cruiser. ;)
